Fordey Buchtel, wife, and two sons, Morris and Dick, of Ligonier, took dinner Saturday with Jasper Buchtel and family. The Misses Pauline Maggart The Misses Doris Maggart and Pauline Dull attended basketball at Ligonier Saturday. Mr .and Mrs. Lon Burley and Mr. and Mrs. Max Burley attended a birthday dinner in Fort Wayne Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. Snepp, the latter a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Burley. There were thirty there and all enjoyed a good time. FOUR CORNERS Mrs. Eve Collander spent Tuesday of last week with the family of Wm. Ryman, at Leesburg. Mrs. James Myers, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whettin were Fort Wayne visitors Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Crist Darr called at the home of their son at Fairlawn, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Clint Collander called at the home of her mother, Mrs. Coy, at Milford Sunday. Warren Fisher of Milford was a visitor at the- Clint Collander home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. James Myers called at the home of Crist Darr Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Darr, of Fairlawn, Mr, and Mrs. Joe Bushong and sons of Syracuse, Mrs. Charles Diethrick of Goshen, were callers at the home of Adam Geyer Sunday evening.

MRS. SEIDER HOSTESS TO CLUB LAST WEEK Mrs. L. A. Seider entertained the Wednesday Afternoon Club at her home last Wednesday. Sixteen were present, and “A MidSummer Night’s Dream” was reviewed by Mrs. F. W. Green, Mrs. C. Slabaugh, Mrs. Seider and Mrs. Elmer Miles. The club’s next meeting is Dec. 18, at the home of Mrs. Sol Miller. Library Notes (By Alice Mann) Forty books were presented to the library last week by C. E. Bishop. “Serenade" the Hangman, Maurice Dekohra; “Ancestor Jorico.”> Wmr J. Locke; “Hans Frost,” Hugh Walpole; “The Mind at Mischief,” Wm. S. Sadler; “The Girl from God’s Mereie,” Wm B. Mowery; “Five and Pen,” F an nic Hurst; “The Young May Moon,” Martha Ostenso; “The Incrediable Year.” Faith Baldwin: “Burning Beauty,” Temple Bailey, are the new books ordered for the library. Ten “Happy Hour” books have been added to the juvenile collection.

MOTHERS CLUB HAS SECOND MEETING The Mother’s Club met with the first grade Friday afternoon about 2:30 o’clock. A new name for the group was chosen by the scholars, it being Happy Sur, prise, one suggested by Mrs. Joe Rapp. Friday’s was the second meeting of the year, of mothers and children of Miss Mabel Anderson’s class in school. The next is to be Dec. 20. The subject of Friday’s meeting was: How We Learn to Read. There was a song by Josephine Gordon and Decima Kolberg; a silent reading lesson and an oral reading lesson. Then William Miller, Thomas Xanders. John Hann, Robert Disher, Emerson Bushong, Arthur Kolberg, James Ever and Nelson Hinderer entertained as Farmer Boys. Stories were dramatized by Leslie Spencer. Suzanne Rapp, Betty Miller, Betty Hollett and Nelson Hinderer. “Fox Movietone Follies of 1929” all talking, all singing, all dancing, at Crystal. Ligonier next Sunday. Monday, Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Martin of Mishawaka, visited Mr. and Mrs: Eston E. McClintic. Friday of last week. The Ladies Aid of the U. B. Church held an old fashioned Quilting Party at the home of Mrs. E. E. McClintic. All-talking pictures are now shown at Crystal Theater, Ligonier.
