Gary, Inddiana. As the result of irregulai’ meals. I was unable to eat a meal without suffering and food al- } ways caused more harm than I good. My kidneys gave me a I great deal of worry and suffering. My nerves finally broke down under the strain. “I heard a great deal about Konjola and decided to find out what it would do for me. Konjola etrengthened my system, regulated my stomach and kidneys. Just as soon as this was accomplished I found that I could eat any kind of food without suffering in the slightest afterward. Konjola certainly deserves all the credit and is the medicine I should have had in the first place.’’ Konjola is sold in Syracuse at Thornburg drug store and by all the best druggists in all towns throughout this entire section. According to the latest insurance statistics .one-fourth of the 100,000 fatal accidents in the United States each year . occur to persons in their own houses. PICK OUT DEADBEATS I IN FLOCK IS WARNING I A red, large comb.... promi- • nent eyss... .white, thin shanks .... a wide long back, these things indiciate the layers in 1 I your flock, and the ones that will i make you money. In every flock there is a deadbeat, says the midsummer number of the Purina Poultryman in reminding the poultrymen that he should. cull his flock during August and! September. “Separating the short time layers from the long time layers is easy if the flock is properly fed,” the magazine says in telling the poultryman of his obligation. The low egg producer can be very easily detected by a few outward signs such as a pale, small shriveled comb; yellow, dry vent; dull sunken eyes; yellow, round shanks. Pelvic bones that are close together, hard and iigid also indicate the low egg producer. The hen’s body that is shallow and tight from the pelvic bone to the breast bone, and that has a narrow short back in most cases is not the heavy layer. Getting rid of these non-lay-ers will be one of the biggest steps you ever took toward getting more money from chickens. Your County Agent, will be glad to help you with culling. Your local Purina dealer also will be glad to help you. August ami September are the ideal months lor culling the flock, the Purina Poultryman concludes. ■ Q Indications are that the potato crop will be at least 90,000,000 bushels below the yield in 1928. The sweet potato crop will be about 80 millions of bushels, or 2 500,000 im/re than last year. — () ■ —. Ruth Blanchard spent Tuesday in South Bend with relatives. Subscribe for the Journal.
