Miss Bernice Gibbons of Chicago was a week end guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Grieger. Chartley Culer of Goshen was a caller at the Fred Hinderer home on Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Merl Harkless came Wednesday to be here for the boat races. J. F. Whitmer of Center, Colo., spent several days with his sister, Mrs. Alice Darr. Mrs. A. A. Beach and Mrs. Cecil Gunderlock made a business trip to Elkhart Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Lida Deardorff spent Friday in Milford with Mrs. Jap. Clem. Miss Elsie and Harry Fackler are spending the week in Battle Creek, Mich, with their uncle. Gerald Walker of South Bend spent the week end with his mother, Mrs. Della Walker. Miss Wilt remained to care for Mrs. Strieby until she is abe to be up after the injuries she received when thrown from an automobile. Dr. Charles A Parks of Dayton. Ohio, and Miss Jessie Rosson, R. N., of Indianapolis, daughter of Mrs. G. H. Ellis, were married at the M. E. Parsonage at Fortville, Ind., Aug. 3, by the Rev. James H. Royer, formerly of Syracuse. Dr. and Mrs. Parks will make their home at 1059 Linden Ave., Dayton, Ohio. Mr, and Mrs. TiSman Hires entertained at dinner Sunday for their guests from Indianapolis Mrs. Emma Mabie, Mrs. John Lloyd and Miss Minnie Lloyd. Other guests were the Misses Vera and Violet O’Dell, who leave Syracuse about September 3, for Elkhart, Ind., where Miss Violet O’Dell • will assume new duties for the coming school year. Miss O’Dell, who has been Principal of the WiUowdale school there, has been promoted to the position of PrincipsA of the Rice School, a larger institution.
