Bowser visited friends in Elkhart a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. John Clark of Casey, 111., are visiting their sister, Mrs. E. E. Holloway. Mr. and Mrs. Vogt, of Logansport, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bowersox. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Humphrey of South Bend called at the home of Will Darr Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. William Jones, of this city, spent the week end at Webster Lake with friends. The Ladies Aid of the U. B. church were entertained Wednesday by Mrs. Cleveland. The State Telephone - Men’s Convention will be held next week at South Shore Inn. Miss Alice Gripp is here from Ft. Madison, lowa, caring for her mother, Mrs. Jane Bushong. Rev. J. C Bailey and wife of Churubusco spent Monday here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Bailey.

Harvey Lauer and family of Mishawaka spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Laura Launer. Miss Myrtle Foxford was in Fort Wayne Tuesday to attend the wedding of a friend. Ladies Aid Committee, No. 1, of tiie U. B. church met Monday evening with Mrs. Sy Bauer. Mrs. Will Buchholz, Mrs. Gertrude Beery and Miss Helen Jeffries were in Elkhart Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Angel of Warsaw spent Thursday with his sister, Mrs. Will Darr and husband. 1

Miss Donna DeHart of Toledo, is visiting with her sister, Mrs. Paul Lecount so a few days. Miss Phyllis Morrison, of Indianapolis, is visiting Miss Erin Fleming, at Lake Papakeechie, Otis Clyde and Jimmy Butt are in Elkhart this week visiting friends and relatives. Bend spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Meek. Miss Virginia ’Bachman returned last week from Bloomington, HL, where she completed her Junior year. Mrs-. Clarence Grieger and son < Bobby of Ft. Wayne visited from Saturday until Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. John Grieger. A. B. Palmeter and wife of South Bend, Ind,, visited Tuesday with A. H. Blanchard and family. Miss Margerite Freeman returned Sunday from Beloit college were she finished her Junior year. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Maloy. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maloy and Mrs. 11. R. McSweeney, spent Sunday in Dowagiac, Mich.

Slabaugh and family of Goshen spent Sunday with his brother, Court Slabaugh, and family. Gerald Priest and lady friend of North Webster, spent Sunday evening with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bailey. Miss Ethel Moore, Mrs. Clarence Byers and Mrs. Wm. Tates, and children were guests of Miss Bernice Shannon last Friday. Mrs. Richard LaSalle and daughter Mary of South Bend spent Saturday and Sunday in the Stephen Freeman home. Mrs. Henry Alward of South Bend is spending this week with Mrs. Isabelle Grieger at Maxwelton Manor, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Meek and Mr. and Mrs. Al Boggs of Warsaw, were Sunday afternoon callers of Mr. and Mrs. John Meek. Mrs. W. 0. Werker and daughter Ruby, of Kimmel, spent Monday with her mother, Mrs. Laura Launer. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pierce and children of Morris, 111., spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Foxford and daughter, Myrtle, Alonzo O’Dell, who has been here since early in the, spring has returned to his home in Grand Rapids, Mich. Mrs. Cora McDivit and daughter of Goshen spent the week here with her brother, Fred Stetler. Mr. and Mrs. Milt Rentfrow went to Elkhart Tuesday to visit with her daughters the rest of the week. •Mr. and Mrs. Will Scheiber of Elkhart came Sunday afternoon and brought Mrs. Mary Stull with them to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ira Kehr. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Watts, accompanied by their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Harris of Elkhart, Spent Sunday in Holland, MichMajor Marsh’s g.randson, Fletcher Marsh, is visiting at his grandfather’s old home for a few weeks. This home is the grandson’s birthplace. Mrs. B. A. Holton, of Chicago, and her sister, Mrs. Anna Hickman of Wellington, Del,, are visiting at the home of Deal Craft. Mr. and Mrs. Frei Poehlman and daughters, Winifred and Miriam and Mr. Wolf of South Bend spent Saturday night and Sunday in Mr. Lund’s cottage. Miss Maude Wright of Bourbon, came last Thursday afternoon and visited with Mrs. 0. L. Cleveland, and Mrs. Joel Wilt. She then returned home Sunday. Mr. Ira Gants of Warsaw and Mr. Sam Shock of Fargo, N. D.., spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hammon and daughter. Rev. A. Nicodemus and Rev. Perry Hubbard, are attending the minister’s institute of the St. Joseph Conference at Bremen this week. Rev. and Mrs. F. A. Armstrong of South Milford, Mrs. Ruth Spradling and Miss Genivieve of Spiceland spent Wednesday at Rev. and Mrs. A- J. Armstrong’s.

Miss Lelia Connolly, Miss Will.amson and Rev. Armstrong went to Ekhart Tuesday to attend the Goshen District Epworth League Convention. The Misses Violette and Vera O Dell left Sunday for Terre Haute where they will attend summer school there for five weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Levi Kitson and daughter Alice went to Indianapolis, Thursday to visit with their daughter. Mrs. Garfield Walker and family. Rev. and Mrs. Purdy are spending a few days with Mrs. Walker, mother, of Mrs. Purdy before going to Pennsylvania where they will reside. Mr. J. K. Lilly and Mr. Eli Lil’y. of Indianapolis, are at their cottage this week at Wawasee, and are attending the Druggist’s Convention. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Barrett and Mr. and Mrs.-Wilbur Brickie and son '‘‘Charles, of Elkhart. -Dent Sunday with Mr. Elwood Pearson. The Girl Scouts met Tuesday evening at the public library. There were about seventeen present and all enjoyed a short hike. Plans were made for a picnic supper next week. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Friedman, Mr. and Mrs. Clifforcl Ehereneman and two children. Miss Edith Burket and Carl Freidman, of South Bend, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Burket. Mr. and Mrs. E. Y. Brown of Tndananolis. and George Butt of South Bend were Sunday guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Kegg. Mrs. J. H. Bowser, Mrs. Warren T. Colwell, Mrs. C. H. King, and Mrs. Walter M. Kegg, were in Culver last Thursday to attend the district convention of the Pythian Sisters. Mrs. Sam Razor received word that Mrs. Bertha Crane, who had undergone an operation at Chicago was getting along nicely, although she will have to remain there two weeks. A. B.
