TAKE STEPS TO PROTECT GAME WARDENS Acts of the last General Assembly promulgated by Governor Leslie, May 21, now make it a criminal offense ■ for any person to resist an officer in the discharge of his duty, or to resist or oppose anyone assisting an officer. Under this law the maximum fine is SIOO and maximum jail sentence 6 months. Another law relative to drawing a firearm or attempting to use a dangerous weapon, or commiting bodily injury to an arresting officer or person assisting said officer, is punishable by one year imprisonment in the state prison. Richard Leiber, State conservation director citing the new laws said they will be of material aid in the enforcement of fish and game laws of this state. In the past he said, wardens have been l resisted and in a few cases, attacked by dynamiters and seiners operating in some localities of the state. _o This is a good time of year to pay your subscription, if it is due. _____ 0 A classified ad will sell it.
