Hollett, local Majestic dealer, was one of the 206 Majestic dealers, who were the guests of the Majestic company on account of selling the required number of radios during the month of March. They left South Bend, Thursday morning, by special Majestic train, first of its kind in this section of the country. Mr. Hollett says he was taken through the six Majestic factories, where he saw every part of Majestic radios manufactured. They were then entertained in the evening by the finest radio artists now appearing on radio programs. He also saw the new electric combination, which he says is a “knock out.” o EXPECT TO FILL FISH ORDERS THIS YEAR Applicants for wall-eye or pike perch fish from state hatcheries have every reason to believe their orders will be filled this year, as the fish and game division of the state conservation department is now engaged in artificially hatching 150 quarts of pike-perch eggs. George N. Mannfeld, chief of the division, explains that no Indiana waters contain sufficient fish of this specie from which to gather eggs, so each year it is necessary to depend on outside states and not infrequently it is impossible to obtain 150 quarts of eggs from the Michigan conservation commission. At this time, 51 quarts are under incubation at the Riverside state hatchery, and 99 quarts are being hatched at Tri Lakes near Columbia city. Each quart contains 150,000 eggs and the full consignment totals over 22,000,000 eggs, A maximum For 9 Years Gas Ruined Her Sleep “Due to stomach gas I was restless and nervous (for 9 years. hatch is sixty per cent, Mannfeld says. Several million yellow perch also are being artificially propogated at these hatcheries, and the five state hatcheries will this spring, through natural reproduction, raise several hundred parent fish. There are 73 pounds at the five state hatcheries now against 29 pounds a few years ago. o Dandelion greens and poke shoots are among the apetizing wild greens obtainable about this time of year. Have them occasionally while they are young and tender, and mild in flavor. BANK ROBBED AT COLUMBIA CITY At the same time the Journal was being delivered at the post office last Thursday afternoon, radio reports informed the coun-try-side that four bandits held up and robbed the Columbia City State Bank at Columbia City, about 25 miles south of here. The bandits were a desperate bunch and determined in their dastardly deed. While three of the robbers entered the bank to take the loot, one remained on guard outside and was rather careless with his gun. Mrs. Fred Binder, living in an apartment over the Strouse Clothing store, across the street from the bank, was shot and instantly killed. Sheriff J. M. Haynes, who engaged in a gun battle with the bandit, was shot in the cheek and seriously wounded but is expected to recover, in spite of the =fact that the bullet missed the brain but one-sixteenth of an inch. Mrs. Eva Harshbarger, being half a block away from the scene of the battle, was hit in the ankle by a stray bullet and several other narrow escapes are being reported. The front of the bank and adjoining buildings, along with several autos which were parked along the street are proof of the work done by the machine gun in the hands of the bandit. The holdup netted the robbers but SBOO and as yet are at large while an extensive search is being made by officers of several adjoining counties.
