NEW TYPE ENGINE The Department of Commerce has leceived information from . the trade comimission at Sidney. Australia, to the effect that an Australian engineer has invented as- internal combustion engine circular in shaps, and has neither crankshaft, connecting rods, camshaft. valves, or riming gears. It consists of a set of six cylinders, piston pins, and movable cylinder head. It is dawned to be a gas turbine and takes up only 1-5 erf space as compared to the present engine. It is capable of developing tremendous speed at a very low gas consumption. It has coil ignition and only one plug lead The fuel is sprayed to each cylinder through a very small jet under pressure erf W pounds per square Inch, and is regulated by piston movement. A most interesting part about this turbine is that it can be started on one cylinder and as more power is needed extra cylinders can be brought into operation by a simple hand control. The inventor believes it will make the present standard motor engine obsolete. KEEP ZINC. FROM FOOD Liquid foods including buttermilk, mific, cider, and other fruit juices should not be allowed to stand even a short rime in a galvanized iron vessel, nor should such a utensil be in making preserves, jellies; etc. The zinc used in galvanizing will dissolve and give food an unpleasant taste and may cause sudden and intense illness. The Blaekaller Players will present “Hiat’s My Baby." aho Viola Dana in “Kosher Kitty Kelly.” another Irish-Jew comedy at Crystal, Ugonier, this Friday.

CHEAPEST GASOLINE Americans not only get the cheapest gasoline in the world, but they get their gasoline more cheaply by comparison with the general structure of prices than any other staple of comparably wide use. Take your American dollar to Paris or Berlin, to Constantinople or Buenos Aires, to the City of Mexico or Shanghai, or Pekin or Timbuctoo, and you will get for it only a fraction as much gasoline as you w’ould get here in the United States at any filling station That is true because the industry here in America is incomparably more efficient than in any other country, and because it has always passed on to the consumer the benefits of improved processes and advanced methods in both production and distribution. - o “Tell It to the Mariaes” a dlent drama that thunders a message t<» all America with Lon Chaney at his greatest. ARE YOU CAREFUL? It may astonish the housekeepers of this country to learn (that most fires occur in homes and that most fires start in kitchens. The loss and damage to homes in insured city dwellings amount to about $65,000,000 a year, a very large percentage being preventable. About 15.000 persons are burned to death each year in the United States, a majority of the victims being women and children. An educational leaflet issued by the National Board of Fire Underwriters observes that the numerous fatalities due’ to carelessness in handling of matches, gas, kerosene, gasoline, electrical attachments and numerous other articles, make it astonishing that any sensible woman would use kerosene or gasoline to accelerate a sluggish fiifet o Tie verdict in the Snyder-Gray murder case at Ln'.g Idai.t' City mce* public approval generally While most people are opposed to death sentences there are crimes, so inhuman and brutal that execution seems to be a mild retribution. ACCIDENTS The word "accident” by derivation means something which falls across.” Falls across what? Why, same orderly procedure! Accident implies an order violated. If there were no order in the world there would be no accidents, for 'all events would then be equally casual. Order mplies purpose. A bad adventure is one contrary to order and purpose. It results in an acci-
