Marie Winters withdrew from Miss Sprague’s room this week. She will enter school in Goshen where her parents are moving. The Juniors are beginning the study of Burrough’s Birds and Bees. Hugh Sloan has withdrawn on account of pink eye. Donald Butt reentered in Mr. Wood’s room this week. Margery Deardorff is still out of school. Ray Bechtel visited in Mr. Wood’s room Tuesday. Tuesday was “Pick up Day” at school. You should see how clean our school yard is. The rooms are engaged in learning Spring and Easter Songs. Several of the teachers journeyed to Warsaaw, Saturday to take the teachers examination. The best liked recreation among the younger girls is jumping rope. They can be seen at all intermissions jumping, sometimes alone but more often in groups of five or more.

Orland Strieby was completely I surprised Monday evening when a number of his classmates called to remind him of his birthday. The evening was enjoyed by all. The lecture, by Mr. Battis was well attended Friday evening. Mr. Battis fully came up to all expectations and held the attention of all. Those who have seen him the second time enjoyed his entertainment quitS as well asfehose who saw him for the first, all would enjoy his impersonations again. High School is pleased that the proceeds cover all expenses. Mr. Moss of Angola College was here Thursday interviewing the Seniors in the interest of his college. One or two students of this years class expect attending school there. Prof. Leavitt gave a very interesting and instructive talk to the high school seventh and eighth grades and a few parents. Prof. Leavitt has made industrial education his life study, especially in its introduction into the secondary schools of our country. The parents were invited to view the manual training and domestic science departments immediately following Prof. Leavitt s talk, lhe cooking class then in session served a light luncheon to the visitors. Donald Baily has secured a job in Kalamazoo, and will go there Friday.

Mrs. Eli Grissom went to Warsaw, Tuesday, where she and her father will celebrate their birthdays, both occurring on March 30th. Elmer Nine, wife and daughter, of LaGrange, visited his mother, Mrs Nancy Nine and brother, Gusta Nine, over Sunday. A family gathering was held at the home of Thomas Nine’s, at North Webster, Sunday. Baby Dies Morris, one of the eight months old twin babies of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Kitson, died early Wednesday morning of pneumonia. The funeial will be held at the home Thursday afternoon. Receiving Bids A. A. Rasor, receiver for the Wawasee Inn Company, has received several bids for the property. The highest bid so far has been between $16,000 and $17,000.
