Mrs. Jenkins and daughter, Maxine, went to Warsaw, Monday, to prepare their household goods for shipment to Syracuse. They have rented the Sam Akeis, Sr., house already furnished for some time but will occupy a house on South Harrison street as soon as their gocxis arrive.

Hoopingarner received a message, Wednesday morr : ng, announcing the arrival of a sevenpound boy at the Thomas Hoopingarner home in Fortville. A Methodist Brotherhood was organized last Sunday evening, with about 20 charter members. will be installed next Sunday evening, when the service will be conducted by and for the men. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Mollenhour of Bourbon, Vera Smeltzer of Elkhart, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Richards and daughter, Elizabeth, and Miss Georgia Strock spent Sunday at the Jos. Smeltzer home. On Tuesday evening most of the congregation at the Church of God remained to discuss the advisability of a tabernacle meeting here next year. Rev. Dr. Parley Zartman of Winona Lake was present and the outlook for such a campaign is good. Buys Interest In Garage J. W. Riddle has purchased a half interest in the S. C. Lepper Garage- The new firm will be known as Lepper & Riddle. They have rented the Sheets building formerly occupied by the Syracuse Lumber and Coal Company and will use this as a storage for cars. For the present at least tbev will retain their building on Main street and their repair shop and supplies will be kept there.

Wedding Anniversary Thirty of the friends of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Butt tendered them a surprise, Monday evening, on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Medlam who “stood up” with them 25 years ago were pre’ent. A fine supper was served and many nice presents were received by Mr. and Mrs. Butt. Gordy, who are at Niles, Mich., caring for their daughter, Jessie, who is ill with typhoid fever, is to the effect that her condition is very critical. She has had several hemorrhages and is delirious the greater portion of the time. Miss Ida Deardorff is nursing her. Legislative Summary The Journal will print a summary, next week, of the laws enacted by the legislature which just convened. Accepts Nappanee Position Robert Gregory, now employed at the foundry, has accepted a good position with the Nappanee Iron
works and will start work there, Monday. The family will continue to live in Syracuse. . Moved Office To Warsaw The office and hooks of the Electric Light Company will be moved to Warsaw after the 15th of this month. Patrons will pay monthly bills at the local bank after that time. Former Superintendent Dies Mrs. J. H. Bowser went to F hart, Tuesday, where she attF the funeral of Dr. A. W. / Mr. Norris was at one intendent of the Syracuse school Mrs. James Dewart was operated upon at Chicago, Saturday, for tumor. The operation was success ful and Mrs. Dewart is doing a well as can be expected.
