SECOND ANNUAL SPRING OPENING We are now fullv ready tor the beginning of our third year in Syracuse. We do not think it is worth our while to tell you how we intend to deal with you. You can best judge for yourselves by the way we have done in the past. We are prepared to do a bigger business this year than ever before. We have secured as a salesman Mr. John Mauzy, who has had broad experience both as a salesman and mechanical expert. We think we have the largest stock of implements and vehicles which has ever been in Syracuse. These have been carefully selected and bought at the right prices. The Syracuse Lumber Co. has consented to let us have their building for our Opening, for which we thank them. Please anticipate your wants in their line and figure with them on that day. There will be a specialist present representing each of the lines we handle. Now there are many things you want to know about these lines that we cannot answer. These specialists are brought here at no little expense that you may find out the things you want to know, absolutely free to you. It's your chance, our treat. Also in the evening of the 19th we will give a free show at the Theatorium. Call at our store between 7:00 and 7:30 for free tickets. Mr. W. T. Minear, our old friend, who has just returned from the Hope Hospital of Fort Wayne, where he has undergone a siege of suffering, has sent us word that if he is able at all, he will be at our Opening to meet his old friends.

—The new rugs for spring trade are now coming in at Beckman’s store. Rev. and Mrs. C. A. Cloud have as their guest this week the Rev’s brother, B. M. Cloud and wife of Peru. Mrs. Leslie Stoner and daughters, Mary and Deloris, «of Garrett, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. George Hursey. —Beckman has the agency for a Chicago firm that makes new rugs from your old carpets. Bring in your old carpets. Another scarlett fever case has developed in the person of little Alice Mann at the Fred Hinderer home.

Ballou, president of the Wawasee Inn Co., came from Chicago, Tuesday, on business matters. Mrs. John Coy, Mrs. Thom. Coy, Mrs. Dan Searfoss, and Mrs. Sarah Stoner of Garrett visited at the Geo, Hursey home, Monday. A post card has been received from S. L. Ketring at Chatanooga, stating that be, was having an enjoyable trip. Mr. Ketring left last Thursday and will spend some time traveling in the south.
