«’« Closing Agreement 1 believe that the rights of all I men should be respected, especially g the rights given them by both their g Creator and government. And in--88 asmuch as both the Creator and | government, which we acknowledge, g saw the necessity of one day’s rest I in seven, in order that life might be preserved and prolonged, and that man's mind might also be rested by changing it from the secular to things that are higher and holier, and inasmuch as this privilege is not being enjoyed by us, the grocery merchants of Syracuse, and our right to this day of rest is not being respected by our fellow men, I, the undersigned, agree on certain con- ® ditions not to open my store on - Sunday for the purpose of selling any kind of goods either for cash or ; on credit. The conditions of this ; agreement are as 1 .—That this agreement be signed by all the grocery merchants of ; Syracuse. 2.—That we pledge to each other our word and honor that this agree- ; ment is signed in good faith and ; that we will be true and faithful ; to it; 3 —That if one or any of us should ; be reported as selling on Sunday we ; are to be considered innocent until ; proved guilty. The report to be in- ; vestigated by any citizen whom the ; competitors may choose. ; 4.—That we will seek not to be ; mistrusted by each other in not ; visiting our stores on Sunday more ; than is necessary and especially by I not permitting others to enter with ; us. ; s.—That all grocery stores be 1 closed on Sunday beginning the ! first Sunday after all the grocery ; merchants have signed this agree- ; ment and the agreement together ; with the conditions have been pub- * lished in the Syracuse Journal. - Elmer P. Miles, Searfoss Bros. Kindig & Co., A. W. Strieby & Son, Seider & Burgener. The Problem Os Life —ls not so much how to accumulate as how to make the best use of what we have. Don’t Cough' Yoursalf Into a I Serious Condition f —To neglect a cough or cold in r always a hazardous act. A cold sc * often goes down on the lungs, and I the cough that follows may easily '• be a symptom of bronchitis, pleur 1 isy. or even pneumonia. Coughing 9 frequently follows attacks of la 1 grippe, and if severe and persistent, f is a tax on the system that weakens 1 the vital resistance. Fuley's Honey * and Tar {Compound is an effective ’ medicine for coughs and colds, is a 1 perfect demulcent that may be rer lied upon for quick relief. A man I named A. R. Ellison. Taylor, Wis., 5 writes: “I make a point of recommending Foley’s Honey and Tar 1 Compound to all those needing a I certain and safe cure from coughs and colds.”—F. L.
