Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ettline and, daughter, May, of Elkhart, are visit ing Mrs. Ettline’s sister, Mrs. W. A. Rapp and also Mr. Ettline’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ettline. Mrs. Chas. Bundy has us her guests, this week, her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank Bundy and her granddaughter, Mrs. Ger tru d e Hughes,both of Lima, Ohio. Mrs. S. C. Hileger and Mary Katherine Crowl of Ft. Wayne, and Mr. and Mrs. Noble Tucker and Richard Crowl of Warsaw, were guests last week, of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Rentfrow. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Barringer went to Edwardsburg, Mich., last Wednesday morning and returned Thursday evening. Mrs. W. T. Watts accompanied them as far as Elkhart, where/she visited her daughter. Messrs and Mesdames A. W. and E. E. Strieby, Carlsen of Chicago, and H. W. Shrock of Shelby, Ohio were fishing two days at Ridinger’s Lake, near Pierceton, last week and report a catch of 18 bass. Chas. Beery was called to Cridersville, 0., last Saturday, by the death of a relative, and returned Monday. He was accompanied by his little daughter, Juanita, who remained. Mrs. Beery intends to go there some time this week for a visit with relatives and friends. Chas. Al wine of North Webster, writes us that he will be unable to correspond for the paper from that place, as he has moved from there. If any of our subsribers in that vicinity knows of a good correspondent we can secure, we would appreciate their information. Sheriff Charles A. Kintsel left Monday morning for Kapsas City where he will take charge of Belva Snyder, the 14-year-old Claypool girl, who disappeared more than a week ago. The girl was employed at the William Caldwell home near Silver Lake and when she left took clothing and money to the value of SSO. After suffering for several weeks from cancer in the stomach and Bright’s disease, Stephen H Marvel, a pioneer resident of Kosciusko county passed away Sunday night at the McDonald hospital in Warsaw. Mr. Marvel was 86 years of age and had lived in the county for metre than seventy years. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hoch and daughter, Edna, of Delta, Ohio, visited several days last week, with his brother, Fred Hoch and family. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hoch and daughter are enjoying an extensive auto tour. They stopped here while enroute from Chicago tn Auburn and also spent a day at Winona. Mrs. Susan Quinter and Moses Whitehead and wife of Nevi' Paris, Elmer Whitehead, Alice Pinkering and Wm. E. Gilbert of Goshen, Mr. and Mrs. Moses Sentz, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sentz, John Whitehead, and Mrs. Jennie Hammond of Milford, attended the funeral of Mrs. Lydia Neff, last Friday. C. D. Smith, Dan Klink, Di<ik Cory, Ed. McClintic and Jess Cory, members of the local area of Eagles, went to Ft. Wayne Saturday, to be present at the Eagles picnic to be held there, Sunday. The tires on Ed’s machine did their best to delay the trip, two blowouts occurring bel fore they got out of limits.
