Won First Honors. James W. Brady of Syiacuse 1 won first honors for the Daniel , Baldwin prize of one hundred dol- • lars in the annual oratorical coni test among the Seniors of Wabash . college, Tuesday night. His subject was “The Scholar in Politics.’ 1 Joseph J. Daniels of Indianapolis, won second prize and James E. Bingham of Veedersburg, I n d., third. This prize for superior merit in oratory was established by Judge Baldwin of Logansport many years ago to stimulate interest among the students for what was then beginning to be classed among the lost arts. We congratulate James in his success and just fame which the victory brings him. We congratulate him on his untiring energy and persistence in surmounting the many hindrances heaped in his path to a'"successful college training. We voice the thought of our whole community in saying that we rejoice in having such young men go out from Syracuse to bring honor to themselves their parents and their .home. There are others from whom also we expect some day soon, honors similar to what James W. Brady has deservingly won.
