. Changed Attitude. £ Recently the Indianapolis News k changed its attitude toward the £ county local option law. Formerly > it was in favor of this law but now !• it is working for its repeal. > The Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette > is owned and controlled by a brew- > ing company, and although we > have heard of no change of owner- [ ship in the Indianapolis News yet > something which does not appear > on the surface has brought about > this changed attitude on the liquor > question. > In a recent article the News says > that more liquor has been sold in > Indiana since the coming local op- > tion law was passed than there was > before its passage. If this is true > it seems logical to think that the > brewing companyies would be work- > ing to have the law stand as it is ; rather than working for its repeal. > The Ligioner Banner seems to be j another paper in this class. While it does not come out and say on which side it stands, it prints every article derogative to the option law which it can find, but none in saver of that or qny other temperance law.
