; GAME PRESERVES i TO BE MUSHED : Geo. W. Miles, Fish Commissioner to : Establish Game Preserve in this State. As published in a former issue of the Journal it is the intention ; of Geo. W. Miles fish and game commissioner to establish game preserves throughout the state and them with game. The far mers of Jackson township, Elkhart county, almost without exception have signed an agreement to form such a preserve. Following is a copy of the agreement and the names subscribed thereto. AGREEMENT. We, the undersigned land owners and tenants, enter into an agreement to form a game preserve of our united lands lying adjacent to each other. We agree to allow no hunting upon t|iis preserve for a period of four years after it has been stocked with game by thfeCommissioner of Fisheries and Game, except, that land owners, with members of their family, may hunt rabbits in season upon their >wn lands only. We furthermore agree to report all violations of the game laws to the said commissioner md will co-operate with him in a! reasonable ways for the protection, propagation and -preservation of such birds as he may place on the preserve. Harmon Clouse and family of Richmond spent Sunday with J. T. Riddle and wife. Frederick Ott and wife and daughter of Kansas City were the guests of Miss. Julia Ott last week. Frances Miller, who has been visiting at Chesterton and Gary for several w®eks, came home Saturday evening. Werdna Clare Allen of Memphis, Tenn, expects to stay with her -aunt Mrs. J. E. Kilgore and attend school here till Xmas. • Miss. Sadie Mollenhour is having a two week’s vacation. She will spend this week with Rev. Parker and family at Hartford City and next week with relatives and friends at Wakarusa. A very enjoyable stag party was held on South Huntington Street. Friday night. All the members live in town but those who saw’ them at a distance that night would not be able to recognize them on the street in day time. Lutheran services 7:30 p. m. next Sunday. Sunday School 9:30 a. m. The Ninth Regiment Indiana Veteran Infantry Association with hold a reunion at South Bend. Oct. 7th and Bth. Miss. Mariam Cook of Indianapolis the teacher in the primary department, will stay with Mrs, Tish and daughter, Miss. Mae this winterRev. Paul I. Morentz will deliver a lecture in the Lutheran Church Tuesday evening October 3. -Rev. Morentz is a native of Russia and a converted Jew. Ho will speak on “The Churches Debt to the Jew.” No admission. Mrs. Chas. Shayne and son Richard of Adrian, Mich, sqent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Braniard. Mrs. Shayne came from Bluffton here and is well acquainted with nearly all of the unfortunates, of the Interurban wreck south of Ft. Wayne, September 21st.
