Mr. “Jap” McClintic has been an employe of the B. & 0. railroad for tho past thirty years, but iri the past few weeks has been in poo; heihh. He is of a very generous disposition, and not being able te viiit his many friends took this method of spending the day. (At the noon hour the guests were sdived with a bountiful dinner, roast chicken and fish. (Mr. McClintic was voted a foyal entertainer and many wishes ex-, pressed for his speedy recovery. —: 0 | Reunited After Forty-seven Years. After a separation of forty-seven ypars Philip Carr, the well known sale crier of Ligonier, and his former wife of many years were reunited in marriage. In the period of their separation both were married again and lost wife and husband by death. Their only child, Mrs. J. K. Winters, of Kenton, 0., Witnessed the reuniting of her parents in marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Qarr we.' first married in 1861 and lived at Navaare,Ohio. After two (years they were divorced, each one marrying again, Mrs. Carr becoming Mrs. Lindsay. Her second husband soon died and she had been a widow for forty-five years. About a year ago Mr. Carr’s second wife died and a reconciliation between the former husband and wife culminated in their second marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Carr will make 'Kenton, Ohio their future home. o H ■ Skimmed Courtesy. “If you are going to give a pan of milk, don’t skim it first,” the old grandmother used to say: meaning, if you are going to do a favor, don’t spoil it by an ungracious word or ; manner. I Haven’t we noticed ho(w much of this “skimming” goes on in ordinary family intercourse? r “Another errand? I never can go down town without a half dozen commissions!” complains Bob, when his sister asks him to bring a book from the library. He never refuses to oblige her; he does not really count it incovenience; he only takes the cream off his kindness. “Those gloves ripped again,” exclaimed Mary, when fiJohn wants her to take a few stitches. “It seems to me they- always need mending when I am in a hurry with . something else.” The children follow the fashion. Tom shuts the door at Bridget’s reI quest, but he grumbles at having to I leave his top. Susie goes to the door when she is sent, but she der parts wirh a protest that it is Tom’s turn. Thus all day long people who love one another skim the sweetness from every service they render.—Pierceton Record. ? o I Harry’s “World Beaters” the best ’ cigar on earth for the money. o Highest prices paid for spring ’ chickins at Brunjes’ Park. . i.The Heroism of Two Boys. Clyde and Alva Roberts, of near Lisbon, aged 10 and 13 years, permitted a portion of skin to be taken from their right upper arms to be grafted upon the wounded arm of a little friend who had deen painfully burned three weeks before. The operation took place at Kendallville last Thursday, and the heroism of these two kind hearted youngsters has attracted much attention and admiration of those who have heard of their sacrifice. Sad Accident. A very sad accident occured at the Cook farm six miles north of Elkhart one day last week. The twenty month ojd son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cook fell into a cistern and before it could be rescued was drowned. Some repairs were being made to the cistern and the lid had not been securely fastened, and when the child climbed onto it the lid tipped and the little one plunged to its death. The mother saw the child, but not in time to rescue it. REAL ESTATeIrANSFERS Houton C. Frazer, Abstractor Warsaw Indiana Emanuel Wolf ro James R.
