There was a heavy fall of rain and hail in the vicinity of Oswego last Saturday. Rev. Walter Swihart from near Churubusco, Ind., visited with John Kitson and wife, and attended a business meeting of their church here Saturday. Robert Mummert and wife of York, Pennsylvania have been vssiting Mr. and Mrs. Sam Aultland for some time. Sunday Mr. Lewis Mummert and wife of Goshen were over. Noah Shively and family, Mrs Claxon and family of Columbia City, Elijah Ott of Edon, Ohio, Cornelius Ott and family of Albion and Miss Vumbrun of La Otto, Ind. visited with Stanton Darr and wife last week. The ice cream social given bv the new Syracuse band Saturday evening was well patronized. The music rendered was splendid and Dr. Lane deserves great credit for bringing the boys up to this standard in so short a time. Mr. Gentry representing the Marion Trust Company., of Indianapolis was here Monday and took formal posession of the Advance Radiator Co. as receiver and expects to operate the plant at full capacity in short time. Mr. Bently will be retained as manager and Mr. J. A. Holselder, Forman. James Hentzell mid wife of Kiwa Kansas who have been visiting here with their parents and other relatives for four weeks returned to i their home Monday. Miss Minnie Hentzell accompanied them. On Sunday all but two of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Hentzell’s children were at their home in a happy family reunion. Will and Vern Bushong and wives were at Anderson Sunday visiting the Rev. Thompson’s family. The Messers Bushong took a run down to Indianapolis and in the evening stopped off at Anderson for their families. Hugh and Joe Bushong who had been visiting their about two weeks came along home.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miller and daughter Frances, S. L. Ketring and Helen Hoover spent several days at Mr. Ketrings Cottage. They experienced some little difficulty in conveying the entire party there. For full particulars inquire of “Joe.” He will not care to tell but if approached in the right manner he might be persuaded to give the > minutest details. The case of Inez Willard against f the Winona Interurban Street Car / Company was tried last Thursday z and Friday at Albion Indiana. This case was for personal injuries received by Mrs. Willard while alighting from a car at Milford Junction on Oct. 13,1909. The Jury retired at 4:30 Friday and returned at 6:45 with a verdict for the plaintiff for four thousand eight hundred seventy-five dollars. The plaintiff was represented by attorneys Jno. M. Treesh and Judge Aiken and the Interurban Company by Drake Frazier. Grant and Link.
