MORGAN-KETRING NUPTIALS. On Wednesday, October 7th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Ketring, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Jessie Marie, to Bennet Bostwick Morgan, of Qbesterton, Ind. , . After the guests had assembled the bride and groom unattended, entered the west door of the parlor to the strains cf Mendellsobn’s Wedding March played by Miss Blanche Ketring, and took their places under a bower of southern emilax, when the pretty ring ceremony of the Methodist Episcopal church was performed by Rev. A. L. Weaver. The wedding ring was carried in a bride’s rose by the little niece of the bride, Frances Helen Miller. The room was tastefully decorated with trailing vines and many clus-ter-boquets of bride’s roses. Immediately after the ceremony .congratulations were offered. ; The bride looked sweetly pretty in a white lingerie gown of princess style and earned a shower boquet of lilies of the valley and maiden hair fern with streamers of tulle. Her traveling - suit was of navy blue with a picture bat of blue velvet. Mr. Morgan is a son of Mrs. Margaret Morgan of Chesterton. He ia graduate of De Pau w University, and a member of the Sigma Ki fraternity. He is now engaged m the insurance business. The bride is one Os the most universally popular young ladies of Syracuse, having grown up here and graduated from the Syracuse high school. She has always been held in the highest esteem in this oom munity. The five course wedding dinner was served by the ‘competent oateress, Mrs. Alda Colter of Ligonier at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Miller, the latter a sister of the bride.' The bouse and table decorations were carried out in pink and green and heart shaped viands were evident in each course. On last Thursday a linen shower was given the coming bride by a number of her friends at the borne of Mrs. C. J. Reilly, and on Monday evening at the home of Miss Mabel .Hillabold the bride’s girl friends showered her with miscellaneous gifts. The father’s gift to the bride was a certificate of four shares of stock in the State Bank of Syracuse and a check for SIOO. The groom’s mother presented the bride with* a deed for two town lots in Chesterton. Very secretly had the newly-wed planned their going away, but there were wiser heads than they, for the. arrival of an auto.from Goshen had aroused suspioion and they were very closely watched lest they escape “unnoticed.” Several tifnes the baggage was taken from the auto, but the obaffeur succeeded in regaining it and at four o’clock mid showers of rice and happy farewells they swiftly sped away toward Goshen from where they expected to leave on the Lake Shore for the East. They will be at home m Chesterton after October 25tb. The guests from Chesterton were Mrs. Margaret Morgan, Miss Sarah Morgan, and Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Morgan and daughter Eleanor. The guests from town were the immediate members of the family, Rev. A. L. Weaver and wife, and Ethel Kitson and Garfield Walker. Grays Close Season. The Grays went to Cromwell Sunday and were defeated by the Senecas by the score of 8 to 3. The showed their lack of practice both in the field and at the bat. The boys have not had a very successful season as tar as winning is concerned, but financially the team bas done farely well. With the present lineup and prospects for a ground near the town, Syracuse will probably have a strong team next season. For Exchangel l have 40 acres of nice Michigan land in an Indiana settlement that I will trade for a good span of driving hoises. It’s a good bargain. Ad-, dress M. L. Russell, Syracuse, Ind.
