The Goshen Fair. The Elkhart County Fair Association are to be congratulated for the manner irf which they conducted the fair last week. It was their first fair for fifteen years, and they were somewhat cautious in their preparations, not thinking there would be as large attendance as they would hope for. But the crow ds,were far la-g-r than they, expected, and they found that many things could have been done safely that were left undone. The Wednesday and Thursday crowds could hardly be cared for. All conveyances possible were used, and many walked out to the fair grounds ra-her than be in the jam on the cars. The Lake S tore company used six coaches and made a round trip every half hour, and they were insufficient sot the need. The races were pulled off in good shape. On Wednesday a horse fell on the track in a race, throwing the driver rather forcibly, but he was not hurt badly. The exhibitions of manufactures, etc., were very good. The usual fakesand tide shows marred the occasion. Mrs. B. F. Iloopingarner of this city took the prize on a Battenberg table cover. The piece hid been taken to the fair by a lady who bad received it for a present, and Mrs. Iloopingarner was somewhat surprised to see the red ribbon on it. John Petersohn of Syracuse took the blue ribbon on his pheasants. It is very probable that before text fall the grandstand will be greatly enlarged, afld extensive improvements will bs made all over the grounds. The Radiator Works. The Advance Radiator company is enjoying a big rush of work at the present time. The plant is busy trying to fill orderfc, running over time as much as is practical, and crowding in’men every place possible. The shipping department is handicapped for space, and the only thing left for the company to do to handle the most of the orders, is to build an a Idition and thus aid in packing and shipping the goods as they are turned out. It is understood that arrangements »re now being m».de to build the much neede 1 aLT ion. It is possible that lumber will have to be us-d, for cement blocks could not be made ready fast enough at the present time. A steel roofing would be put on the new building. LEESBURGMrs. C. R.
