Last Wednesday a remarkable thing happened. Something that a day or too before seemed in possible. Down at Warrings store, sitting around the old connon stove/ was, Geo. Hensley, Chas. Botkin . Ora Wooden, Dr Kentling, Bank/ Adams, Postmaster Geo. M. Deqfc’ kard, Elmer Lucas. There wer Y spectators. Homer Humphery waa there buthe was “pushed ont“ the back door. This meeting was -called that they might make peace with Geo Hensley. It was a heart rendering sciene, but politics often makes strange bedfellows. As they sit silence smoking a long stem pipe, Charley took a long puff and handed it to Geo, and said “George we are for you“ We have decided we cant beat you, so we are now ready to make peat e“ Geo, said ‘Well Charley I am glad of it, because I was going to everlastingly wring your political neck this fall so I guess if you fellows are a mind come on over and be sociable, I will take you in on good behavior! at this supt, Payne broke down and wept, for he said he would rather have seep this bunch scraped it out than to have been president of the advisory board, after talking over the entire situation of Clear Creek township, and what all they was going to do for Harrodsburg, Loeb Warring passed the cheese and crackeas. Geo, Deckard said they neednt havp went to all this trouble, for he could, have handled the Post office and the townships business very easily and by 1916 could adopt a county office or two. This is all a fact because tt was on April 1st 1914.
