Scouts hold pumpkin carving contest
Being Honor Den for the month of October, the Senior Webelos of Syracuse Cub Pack 3828 led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance at the October 15 pack meeting. Gale Baumgartner announced the end of the popcorn sales and that all orders were due in. The popcorn is scheduled to arrive by November 5. The Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary presented the pack with a S3OO donation from the Bike-a-Thon. Membership cards were presented to several Scouts and leaders. Bobcat awards were given to Logan Lees, Matt Martin, Joshua Bradley, Craig Troup, Kevin Newcomer, Cody Silva, Robbie Trame, Dustin Phalin, Justin Mazid, Jonathon Bradley, Stephen Farber, Steven Mikolacyzak, Cole Thomas, Paul Siedner, Chad Wooten, Alex Sielesnew and Mike Mench of Den 2. From Den 1 were Arron Drumm, Arron Torbin and Eric Stump. The program was presented by Rebecca Johnson, art teacher at Syracuse Elementary School. She offered suggestions of how to decorate a Halloween pumpkin.

Measles epidemic
Inner-city children, those least likely to be vaccinated, have been the hardest hit in this year’s measles epidemic. So far this year, there have been more than 6,000 cases. Measles is an extremely
