she’s looking to finishing in the top eight this time around. Karns saw his Lady Warrior squad total 14416 points to place fourth in the team standings of the nine-team sectional field. “I was happy with the way that we swam, especially when you consider the strength of this sectional,” said Karns. The Penn Sectional saw the seventh-ranked hosts stay close to the number-four ranked Blue Wave of Central throughout the meet before they won it with a victory in the final race of the day. Trailing Central, 328-327, going into the last event of the sectional (the 400-yard freestyle relay), the Lady Kingsmen came through with the win as the team of Lisa Rhodes, Jenny Dobrzykowski, Jodi Sager and Jill Zbrzezny took first in a time of 3:47.80 to easily beat the Central foursome, finishing second in 3:56.70. The final team standings had Penn on top with 359 points, followed by Central (354), Concord (180), Wawasee (144*6), Elkhart Memorial (109), East Noble (83 >/z), Goshen (61), Northridge (33) andNorthWood (26). “I believe that this is easily the strongest sectional in the state and it was a very strong meet. Overall, I was very proud of our effort and what we accomplished,” stated Karns. In addition to Firestone’s sectional championship, Wawasee had a number of fine efforts in the consolation and championship heats on Saturday. “We had the bulk of our best swims on Thursday during the preliminaries, but all of our relay teams really
