troduced at a meeting of the Town. Council held on October 9, 1990. At a meeting of the Town Council to be held at 7:00 p.m. (Silver Lake Time), on October 30,1990, In the Silver Lake Lions Club, 108 N. Harrison St., there will be a public hearing on the matter of the rates and charges, and consideration of adoption of said Ordinance Wo. 90-8 which provides in part as follows: "For the use of the service rendered by sewage works, rates and charges shall be collected from the owners of each and every lot, parcel of real estate or building that is connected with the Town sanitary system or otherwise discharges sanitary sewage, Industrial wastes, water or other liquids, either directly or indirectly, Into the sanitary sewage system of the Town of Silver Lake. Such rates and charges include user charges, debt service costs, ex cessive strength surcharges and other service charges, which rates and charges shall be payable as hereinafter provided and shall be in an amount determined as follows: t (a) The sewage rates and charges shall be based on the quantity of water used on or in the property or premises subject to such rates and charges as the same is measured by the water meter there in use, plus a base charge based on the size of water meter installed except as herein otherwise provided. For the purpose of billing and collecting the charges for sewage service, the water meters shall be read monthly and the users shall be billed each month (or period equaling a month). The schedule on which said rates and charges will be determined is as follows: Residential: Single fami ly dwelling unit $ 35.85 Surcharge on Suspended Solids in excess of 200 mg/1 $ .20 Surcharge on BOD in ex cess of 175 mg/1 $ .22 At such hearing and prior to final adoption of said ordinance all interested parties may appear and be heard. Motorcycle struck by car, rider taken to hospital
Syracuse Police investigated the following accidents during the past week: Steven Wayne Reichel, 42, East Greenhaus, Syracuse, suffered a contusion/bruise to his back, after he was thrown from his motorcycle, when it was struck by a 1985 Buick LaSabre. The accident occurred at 2:24 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at Chicago and Seventh Street in Syracuse. Reichel was taken to Goshen Hospital. Joanne Swanson, 59, Island View Drive, Goshen, driver of the Buick, told police she was turning the vehicle around in the parking lot at Sea Nymph and was attempting to make a left turn onto Chicago Street. She advised she looked to see if there was any traffic, but did not see any other vehicles. After she pulled out the motorcycle was coming down the street and the two vehicles collided. Reichel was driving a 1982 Yamaha. Damage to the vehicle was estimated up to $2,500 and up to SI,OOO to the motorcycle. Driver Cited Ronald E. Kuhn, 17, rural route, Leesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle with out financial responsibility, after hitting a parked car on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 8:36 p.m., at the Lakeland Youth Center and West Access Road. Kuhn told police he was at the Lakeland Youth Center and parked his 1981 AJC CJ-5 by the building. Kosciusko County Police are investigating the following thefts and other incidents that were received by the department recently. A 1985 Pontiac stolen from LaPoint Drive, Syracuse, was recovered by Syracuse Police shortly after it was reported stolen. Denny G. Carroll, Syracuse, notified police at 6:55 am., Sunday, Oct. 7, that their home had been entered and their 1985 Pontiac was stolen from their driveway. Carroll stated a purse was missing from the kitchen table, as well as a billfold and the keys to the vehicles. Also the inside of a pick-up truck parked at the home was ransacked. The car was recovered later that morning by Syracuse Police on Oak Street. The vehicle had sustained damage, as it appeared the thief had an accident with the vehicle before leaving it along Oak Street. Damage to the vehicle was to the windshield, front fender and steering wheel. Truck Stolen Jesse W. Beer, rural route, Milford, reported the theft of a 1974 Ford grain truck on Monday, Oct. 8. The theft occurred from a field on CR 900 N and SR 15, south of Milford. Beer reported the keys were left inside the vehicle. Stereo Taken Ben Huffman, Cromwell, notified police at 9:28 am., Sunday, Oct. 14, that a stereo cassette system and equalizer were removed from his car while it was parked at Wawasee High School. The items are valued at over S3OO.

IS. Syracuse Police were alerted of the break-in around 8:15 a.m., when a man delivering newspapers found the east door on the southside of the building broken out. Syracuse Police report the break-in occurred between 3-8 a.m. After breaking the glass in the door, the intruder or intruders went to the drug cabinet and removed a large quantity of drugs. When police arrived the audible alarm was going off inside the building. Upon a check by the alarm company it was found a part of the system malfunctioned, thus authorities were not notified of the intrusion. 12 am., Tuesday, Oct. 9, he was involved in an accident on Seventh Street, north of Baltimore Street. The officer noted that the accident was reported 10 hours after it occurred. Conder told police he was traveling north on Seventh Street in his 1976 Corvette when the vehicle went through a puddle of water. Condor lost control of the vehicle for 190 feet, going off the west edge of the roadway and colliding with a parked 1987 Freightliner. The Corvette then went another 18-feet colliding with a parked 1986 Ford Ranger. The force of the impact caused the Ranger to hit a 1984 Ford Ranger XLT parked six feet north of that vehicle. Damage to the Corvette was estimated up to $5,000, up to SI,OOO to the semi tractor registered to Penske Truck Leasing, Elkhart, up to $2,500 to the 1986 Ford registered to Donald E. Fether, Pittsford, Mich., and up to $5,000 to the 1984 Ford registered to Gary D. Watson, Mishawaka. Two Taken To KCH No information is available on an accident Saturday, Oct. 13, at Pickwick Road and SR 13. The accident occurred at 5:26 p.m. Two occupants of one of the vehicles, Donald Reid, 53, and Beverly Reid, 51, both of North Second Street, Pierceton, were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. The two occupants of the other vehicle, Clyde Johnston, 79, and Mildred Johnston, 74, both of East Main Street, Syracuse, were not taken to a hospital.
