The annual conference provides an opportunity for members of the Indiana American Legion to meet personally with their congressional delegates to discuss issues of importance to veterans. High on this year’s list of priorities, according to Koutz, are funding proposals for veterans medical care. “The American Legion is urging Congress to carefully weigh future funding for veteran care in light of the current crisis in the Middle East,” Koutz said, adding, “the VA health care delivery system is the principal backup resource to military medicine during times of national emergency.”
