Milford Youth League provides summer recreation
What has 275 heads, 550 legs and catches flies? The Milford Youth League, of course. About 275 kids are scheduled to participate in such sports as T-ball, softball and baseball this summer. The T-ball league will be the most active, with 10 teams and 119 kiddies participating. T-ball is an equal opportunity affair, as the various coaching staffs mix both boys and girls on their rosters. The league of pint-size sluggers will consist of such teams as the Cards, Cubs, Twins, Yankees, Angels, Reds, Tigers, Indians, Athletics and Royals. The contests will be played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays primarily with occasional Friday games thrown in. Games will be
played at the Youth League diamond and Pony League field, both of which are located at Milford School. The season kicks off on June 5, with four games on the slate, and concludes on July 24. Baseball and softball games will be played at the Milford School location also. The Boy’s Youth Baseball League has six teams ready for action. The league begins play on June 4 and wraps things up on July 20. Milford's Pony League baseball team will take its act on the road, playing other squads from the area. Girls’ softball is divided into two (Continued on page 21)
