The club members provide demonstrations on what can be done on skies. The areas demonstrated are barefoot, jumping, round the boat, pyramids and doubles.

Webster Ski Bees give demonstration ski shows

Webster Ski Bees is a small lake club that holds demonstration ski shows throughout the summer on Webster Lake. Members of this ski team do not compete in tournaments, but strive to go out and show their audiences what can be done in skiing. Larry Harris, president of the group, noted the demonstrations include barefoot skiing, jumping, round the boat, pyramids and doubles “It’s a fun group,” he noted, pointing out the club is oriented more around families and family fun. This year permits have been applied for, for their shows to be held on Webster Lake, in front of the town beach. The show dates are: May 26, 6 p.m.; June 30, 2 and 6 p.m.; July 7, 6 p.m.; July 28, 6 p.m.; August 18, at 6p. m., and September 1, at 6p. m

There are 48 paid family memberships, which make up a large part of the club. Membership ages range from six to 60, with the skier participants ages ranging from five to 46 years of age. Webster Ski Bees is open to any one who wants to join. Applications are available for interested persons and families. Harris noted that the applications are not to screen potential members, but to obtain their names, addresses, telephone numbers and what their specialty is in water skiing. Officers for this year with Webster Ski Bees are: Harris, president; Max Stackhouse, vice president; Debby Egle, secretary; Diana Schwartz, treasurer; and Londa Meredith, show director.
