ENJOY THE WATER — Many people enjoy the water when they visit Henry Ward Park. The Syracuse Park system offers facilities that are on the water, allowing fans of water sports to enjoy the area lakes.
Henry Ward Park will have family atmosphere
Henry Ward Park is a popular spot in Syracuse. Located on Medusa Street inside the town, the facility sees a lot of traffic. In 1990, it will be seeing a lot of improvements as well. As part of the park system, it is in the focus of a five year master plan being facilitated by the Syracuse Park Board. board president, “lends a long-term focus” to the projects the board undertakes and the money it spends. This year, Henry Ward Park will benefit from that focus as the board, in the words of Kip Schumm, “will reclaim parking spots for single passenger cars.” Schumm, who is the Turkey Creek representative to the board, added, "we want more family oriented activities.” for the park. As a result, playground equipment will be featured, as will a seawall with a boardwalk area, as well as seating for an observation area and children's fishing. Restrooms will also be renovated and will even have handicapped access. Finally, as with all parks in the system, Henry Ward Park could receive decorative lighting this year.
