Mabel A. Baker Mabel A. Baker, 95, Payne, Ohio, died at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 1990, in Paulding County Hospital, Paulding, Ohio. Born February 4, 1895, in Redkey, she was the daughter of George and Nettie Mae Morris Blackburn. She was married to Frank Fields, who died in 1923. Her second marriage was to Jacob Baker, who died in 1967. Mrs. Baker was life member of American Legion Post 297 Auxiliary, Payne. Her survivors include one son; one daughter; four grandchildren; two brothers, William Blackburn, Mentone, and Lester Blackburn, Warsaw; and two sisters, including Mary Rensberger, Milford. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 16, in Slade Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Payne. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. (Ohio time) Thursday, May 17, in the funeral home with Rev. Don Heiser officiating. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery, Payne. Raymond E. Clark Raymond E. Clark, 82, 5218 N. Colfax St., Warsaw, died of an apparent heart attack at 5:30 a m. Thursday, May 10, 1990, in his home. Born May 17,1907, in Kentland, he was the son of Bennett L. and Bertha Brinkman Clark. On August 30,1930, he married Violet Armold, who died December 22, 1984. Mr. Clark was a retired farmer and a member of North Webster United Methodist Church. His survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Freer, Warsaw; one son, William B. Clark, Warsaw; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Keith (Alice) Nicholson, Catlin, Ill.; and two brothers, John Clark, Las Vegas, Nev., and Lloyd Clark, Brook. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Memorials may be directed to Kosciusko County Home Health Care. Alfred H. (Al) Lamley Alfred H. (Al) Lamley, 79, 11551 Hickory Ln., Imperial Terrace, Tavares, Fla., and Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, died Tuesday, April 24,1990. He was born in Huntertown, and moved from Syracuse to Tavares in 1979. A former marina owner and restaurant operator, he was a 14-year employee of Wawasee Boat Company, Syracuse. A member of the United Methodist Church, Mr. Lamley was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Elks Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of Mount Plymouth Golf Club and past commodore of the Imperial Terrace Boat Club and Aqua Knot Boat Club, Tavares. His survivors include his wife, Virginia; two brothers, Elmer Lamley and Don Lamley, both of Fort Wayne; and three sisters, Violet Betts, Ossian, and Lola Sarazen and Goldie Bodigan, both of Fort Wayne. Funeral services were held Friday, April 27, in Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Directors, Tavares. Mary Poulson Mary Poulson, 80, Lakes Estates, Warsaw, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 1990, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was in ill health for several years. Born April 11, 1910, in Laketon, she was the daughter of Edward and Jessie Tyner. On January 15, 1934, she married Leon F. Poulson, who died May 26.1985.
SCHENKEL AT HOME Ted Schenkel, r 2 box 175, North Webster, has been released from Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, and is recovering at home. Schenkel suffered a fractured neck and fractured lower back after falling from a scaffold at the Wawasee Middle School construction site last Tuesday morning. UNDERGOES HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY Mary Lou Korenstra, 98 East Shore Dr., Syracuse, is recuperating at home following hip replpcement surgery on Tuesday, May 1, in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. A resident of the Warsaw area most of her life, Mrs. Poulson retired as a nurse at the old McDonald Hospital in Warsaw. She attended North Webster United Methodist Church. She was a 50-year member of Warsaw Order of the Eastern Star and a Red Cross volunteer. Her survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Sue) Sutton, Leland. Mich.; two granddaughters; three greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Fleda Vandeveer and Martha Ahrendt, both of Warsaw. Funeral services were held at 11 a m. Delbert (Bub) Whitehead Delbert (Bub) Whitehead, 65, r 2, Syracuse, died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 1990, in his home following an extended illness. Born October 16, 1924, in Goshen, he was the son of Donald R. and Gertrude Smith Whitehead. He moved from Elkhart to Syracuse in 1949 and was a selfemployed golf course equipment salesman. Mr. Whitehead was a United States Navy veteran of World Warll. His survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Janet) Spearman, and one son, James Whitehead, both of Syracuse; four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. William (Theda) Cutter, Syracuse. Charlene Woolson Charlene D. Woolson, 89, a resident at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wabash, formerly of Milford, died at 8 a m. this morning, Wednesday, May 16, 1990, in the health care facility. Born March 6, 1901, in Milford, she was the daughter of Perry F. and Mae Miller Hoover. On December 21, 1919, she married Donald C. Fuller, who died in 1933. She was married on August 2, 1946, to Leßoy Traster, who died in 1953. On November 1,1969, she married Clayton Woolson, who died in 1972. Mrs. Woolson was a lifetime Milford area resident before moving to North Manchester in 1980. She was a graduate of Manchester College and received her master’s degree from Indiana University. She taught school for 31 years, mostly in the Goshen school system. A member of Milford First Brethren Church and the Women's Mission Society, she was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Home Arts Club, both in Milford. Her survivors include one son, Robert Howard Fuller, North Manchester; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by one grandson and two brothers. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 18, in Eastlund-Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, in the funeral home with Rev. Paul Tinkel officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Milford First Brethren Church or American Cancer Society. County plans purchase with the future in mind
7 Looking to alleviate future crowded jail conditions, the Kosciusko County Commissioners endorsed a plan last Thursday that will allow for the purchase of three buildings located south of the Justice Building. The three parcels, which include the Data Management Inc. building. NIPSCO consumer building, and a group of retail stores owned by George Mann, would be purchased for $1,242,500. The Data Service building would be used as a juvenile detention center which could open as early as next fall. A white house
