Living Quarters offers personal service and quality selections

Philabaum noted that the store, located on SR 13 in Wawasee Village, has really been revamped since she acquired it nine years ago. “The original store was more traditional furniture but now we specialize in wicker, rattan and patio furniture lines with

Living Quarters expanded with the addition of a warehouse area in December of 1988, thus enabling the store to carry a large selection of furniture as well as carpeting and floor covering. “We stay with good, top-quality lines with our products and we also want to keep a very personal type of service for our customers,” stated Philabaum. Barry Miller is on call 24 hours a day

Barry Miller of Miller Heating and Air Conditioning, started his heating and air conditioning business in Syracuse in September, 1978. His wife, Judy, who also serves as bookkeeper for the firm, said he hit the ground running and hasn’t slowed down since. “Our business continues to grow — we’ve been well received by area people,” Judy said, adding, “Barry concentrates on the service side of the business and prides himself on being available when needed. He’s on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, especially for heating calls.” The company installs and repairs Bryant heating and cooling equipment in houses and has Miller brand equipment for mobile home installation. Miller does all phases of heating and air conditioning, including gas, oil, hot water or electric. Originally from the Syracuse area, Barry worked two years in for Redman Plumbing and Heating in Columbia City, driving from

the Miller home in Syracuse. Prior to that, the family had been in Mississippi for seven years. It was there that Barry learned the heating and air conditioning business. In his spare time, Barry enjoys bowling with his wife. Os the couple’s four grown children, two are currently serving in the U.S. Army, Gary in New Mexico and Andrew at Fort Sill, Okla. Andrew has two sons, Andrew Jr. and Brandon. Son Robert lives in California while Marianne makes her home in Syracuse. Judy said Marianne’s four-year-old son, Greg, is the apple of his grandfather’s eye. “He follows Barry around the shop every chance he gets. He may be the one who will follow grandpa in the business,” she said. That business has been popular for providing prompt and efficient heating and air conditioning needs. The business is located on the west side of SR 13 in Wawasee Village.
