Creative Touch Studio offers personal, economical service

A full service photography studio, Creative Touch Studio in Syracuse offers quick, personal service at an economical price, says owner Judy Moser. In business for about seven years, the studio has expanded its lines of goods and services in an effort to cater to its customers’ needs. One of the biggest needs, as Judy has witnessed this past year, has been providing an alternative for parents who would like to have their children photographed. In the past, parents have had to stand in crowded lines in department stores in order to cash in on picture packages for children. The kids get tired from waiting and by the time it is their turn to have their picture taken they are not fresh and happy as when they first arrived. The pictures, therefore, show tired children with tired expressions. At Creative Touch the most work a parent has to do to have his or her child photographed is call the studio to set up an appointment. Judy allows ample time to let the child relax, thereby ensuring that she will capture great expressions on film. One of the most popular packages offered currently at Creative Touch is a free baby panel. With this package, a parent agrees to bring in the child when he or she is three, six, nine and twelve months old. After the last sitting, the photos are placed in a personalized baby panel that details the child’s name and birth date. A unique idea created by Judy, she says anyone wanting more information about the free baby panel should call her at the studio. Another facet of the Huntington Street studio is its activity in custom framing and

Town's infrastructure is priority at Milford

By MARY JANE LORTON Staff Writer In an effort to keep up with EPA and state regulations, as well as, to make improvements on the infrastructure of the town of Milford, Dallas Winchester 11, utilities commissioner, says residents can expect several new and continued projects in the next couple of years in the following departments: street, water and sewer. Street With a state sign grant coming to Milford in 1990 or 1991, Winchester said all traffic signs in the town will be replaced. “They will be updated to meet the safety handbook of the state,” he noted. Although the majority of funds for this project will be coming from the state, Milford will make up the difference in the labor required to put up the new signs, according to the commissioner. Repaving the downtown area is another project marked for T9O or T9l. An upcoming test project, which Winchester hopes to see in place this summer, is the placement of one recycling bin in town. “I’d like to try it out,” he said, adding, if the town could break even on the costs, a project of this type would be well worth it. Curb replacement is another priority on the list of future projects for the street department. At this point, Winchester said he is not sure which curbs will be a part of this project. Water At the top of the list of improvements to the water utility is the installation of new isolation valves. With these valves in place, water can be turned off in specific sections of the town. With the existing system, whenever there is a problem with a water

matting. With a wide selection of frames and mats, Judy says the studio can frame pictures, needlework, art work, medals, and anything else a customer may want framed. With custom mat cutters, the studio is able to produce both oval and rectangular matting. Creative Touch also works with photo restoration. “That’s just a part of being a full service photography studio,” says Judy. As a full service studio, Judy says they also photograph weddings. Along those same lines, the studio represents three lines of wedding invitations. For those looking ahead to the prom, they will be happy to know that Creative Touch also rents tuxedos. “It’s really quite convenient to have the formal wear here now,” remarks Judy. Creative Touch’s summer season includes senior portraits and wedding photography. Seniors are offered the latest fads and props at the studio and on location. For wedding photographs, Judy encourages couples to call early for reservation dates as many do book from nine to 12 months in advance of their weddings. While currently working on the front porch, which is to be a new display room, Judy says she also hopes to find someone who can work with her on creating an outdoor studio at her business. Creative Touch Studio is located at 207 N. Huntington, in Syracuse. The studio’s hours are Tuesday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. The studio is open other times by appointment. In the summer months, the studio is open until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

main, for example, the entire town loses water when the water is turned off. In addition, Winchester looks to replace fire protection hydrants that are in poor condition. Extending water services in the town limits where water is not now available is another future project. Winchester would also like to replace all existing inside meters with an outside remote meter. “That way we won’t have to keep bothering the residents to read their meters,” explained Winchester. Within the next five to seven years, the commissioner expects to add water filtration. While it is not required by the state at the present time, Winchester stated, “I do foresee it being a state requirement.” Finally, Winchester would like to see more community involvement, including both children and adults, with water conservation. Since water rates are increasing rapidly all over the U.S., Winchester said water conservation is an important issue for all. Sewer Similar to his goals on the extension of water services, Winchester would also like to see sewer services extended to areas in the town limits that do hot currently benefit from this service. “Storm and sanitary sewage separation of the collection system,” is another project Winchester has earmarked for the near future. While the town will continue to work on other areas of development outside of these three departments, town council president, Bob Phillips concluded, “right now Milford’s infrastructure is our main priority.”.
