Splashy colors and custom design clothes at Your Village Boutique
Brilliantly colored clothing fills the racks and festoons the walls at Your Village Boutique in Syracuse. Custom-made jewelry glitters and accessories catch the eye. According to owners Sande Wappes and Betty Bultemeier, that’s by design. “We’re trying to find that different customer that’s ready for unique, different things,” says Sande. The result is splashy, fun fabrics, made complete by funky accessories and shoes. Comfortable and casual might also describe the fashions at the boutique. The clothing, which runs in misses and junior sizes, coines in a variety of lines. Betty assures, “We’re always looking for new and different lines.” Your Village Boutique stocks jewelry, belts, scarves, purses, clothing, shoes and hand-quilted luggage. The custom-made jewelry available at the boutique is especially eye-catching. Each piece comes in only three or four of a kind — sometimes only one of a kind — the same policy applies to clothing, which helps insure customers that their look is truly unique. Customers can also have jewelry made
Cox has an experienced hand at Wawasee Water Conditioning
“We service water conditioners, sell and rent water conditioners and deliver a lot of salt.” That’s how Brad Cox describes his duties as co-owner of Wawasee Water Conditioning. Cox also sells bottled water and provides free water analysis. He checks for iron and hardness in the water and gives an estimate on the cost of a softener. Cox says people are paying more attention to their water quality nowadays. “There’s a lot of people kind of scared about the drinking water and things,” he said. Cox deals mainly with homeowners and spends a lot of time making service calls. There isn’t much walk-in business at Wawasee Water Conditioning but Cox still

to match an outfit they’ve bought at the store or one they bring in on their own. Hand-painted shoes are also available for that special look. For lovers of fine luggage, quilted bags by Vera Bradley of Fort Wayne are available. The custom look is not, however, confined to accessories. Betty says, “We have originals (inclothing).” Despite the originality of Your Village Boutique fashions and accessories, the prices aren’t high. In fact, they’re moderate. A 20 percent reduction in price is taken off of each item. Your Village Boutique, which began in 1987, is not a seasonal operation, like some local establishments. Yet, this year they will be offering something special for their summer customers — Christmas is July. The event will be designed to allow their summer customers to see the fun holiday items the store offers. Still, no matter if you’re a seasonal or year ’round customer, at Your Village Boutique, unique is the look you’ll find.
stays plenty busy making his rounds. Cox expects to have some salt sales this summer. The business carries the solar and pellet varieties along with Morton’s 40 and 50 pound bags. “That’s the main part of our business is delivering salt and servicing,” Cox said. Cox can service almost any water softener model, thanks to his 10 years of experience in the business. Demand and timer softener units are offered. Mary Lou Lambert is the co-owner of this company which has served the Syracuse area for three years. Located at 13 Center, south of the Wawasee Bowl, Wawasee Water Conditioning has hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
