mark to 9-1. "The kids responded well after we talked about some things after the loss. We really went at them hard from the beginning.” remarked Evans. The Warriors grabbed a 17-10 lead at the first stop and never looked back en route to thelopsided victory. Evans noted that the intensity level of the squad was much higher in the Churubusco contest, as he used wholesale substitutions throughout the game. “We really played some strong defense in the second half and that's where we have to continue to improve,” he noted after the Warriors allowed Churubusco just 14 second half points. Ferverda, along with Chad Dippon, led the squad with 17 points each while Matt McClintic added 10 markers, y Defjsdt Whitko 52-42 Wawasee raised its season mark to 8-0 after posting a 52-42 win over visiting Whitko in action last Thursday evening in the Warrior Gym. "Even though we led most of the way it was a close game and the key for us was that we were able to get some points on the inside. ' commented Evans.

Chris Mullins added seven points for the pinners while McClintic scored six. Tough Road Ahead Even with a 9-1 start, Evans realizes that the Warriors will be tested in the near future, beginning with a contest at Concord tomorrow (Thursday) evening. “Concord is 8-2 and they’ll be the toughest team that we’ve faced thus far,” emphasized Evans. “I was happy with the way that the team responded on Saturday after losing for the first time, but now we’re looking to stay on the winning track. The key for us with the quality of teams we still have to face is to execute and to be mentally ready to play because that will determine who wins,” said Evans. After facing Concord, the squad will travel to Fairfield next next Tuesday and to Goshen on January 18. The squad’s next home contest will be against Northridge January 22. All four of the games will tip-off at 6:30 p.m.
