According to Indiana State Senator Robert Meeks the word “substantial’’ has been submitted to be inserted in the statute. This word will be enough to offset the 16th of an inch sign requirement. Senator Meeks noted that the matter has been turned over to the committee. On Tuesday, Roger Kryder, director of transportation/ for Wawasee Community School Corporation, testified before the legislators as did a number of school bus drivers. Members of the Indiana State-Police may also be speaking before legislators to have the law' changed. The move to have the wording changed came after a Kosciusko County judge dismissed a charge of passing a school bus while the stop arm was out against a teen, becaas-e the- white, band- around the sign did not meet the state’s minimum requirements.
