Chauncey Bennett Chauncey L. Bennett, 54, 72850 CR 23, New Paris, died unexpectedly at 3:59 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 1989. in Goshen Hospital, after being admitted there a few hours earlier. Born July 10, 1935, in Atwood, he was the son of Laßoy and Mary Ruth Goodman Bennett. On March 29,1969, he married Karen Metzger; she survives. Having moved from North Manchester to New Paris 20 years ago, he was employed with Northern Indiana Public Service Company. He was a 1953 graduate of Burket High School and attended Nappanee First Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter. Lisa Bennett, a student at Ball State University, Muncie; two sons, LaMar and LaMont Bennett, both at home; one sister, Edna Marie Mock, Syracuse; and four brothers, Leßoy Bennett and Donald Bennett, both of Etna Green, Dr. Gaylord Bennett, Belcourt, N D., and Gwendol Bennett, Warsaw. Funeral services were held at 10a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, in YoderCulp Funeral Home, Goshen, with Rev. Ralph Hawkins, pastor of First Baptist Church, Nap-r panee, officiating. Nellie Losee Nellie Losee, 91, formerly of Nappanee, died at 4:30 a m Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1989. in Maranatha Manor, Springfield. Mo., where she resided Born June 9, 1898, in Indiana, she was the daughter of James and Mary Alice Jackson Losee. Having moved to Springfield 10 years ago, she was a member of Turkey Creek Church of the Brethren. Her survivors include one daughter, Waneta Spicher, Halfway, Mo.; four grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Andrew Losee, Nappanee, and James Losee. Syracuse. Born March 30, 1916, in Nappanee, she was the daughter of Thomas and Lelia Howenstine Orn. On October 14, 1950. she married Theophil (Tay) Hess, who died in 1975. A lifetime area resident, she retired in 1982 from Zimmer Inc.. Warsaw. Mrs. Hess was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church; Order of the Eastern Star. Leesburg; Women’s Circle of the church; and Tri-Arts Club. Her survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Shively, Leesburg; one son, Thomas Manges, Lebanan, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. John (Pamela) Flory, Leesburg, and Mrs. Charles (Paige) Hoover, El Toro, Calif.; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one brother. Martha J. Lung Martha J. Lung, 61, r 3, Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 1989, in her home following an extended illness. She was born July 16. 1928, in Jay County. On June 19, 1949, in Cromwell, she married Dr. Herman L. Lung; he survives. In 1985 she moved to the Syracuse area from Ligonier. Mrs. Lung had been office manager for Lung Veterinarian Clinic, Ligonier, for many years. Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, James Lung, Fort Wayne; two daughters. Born May 5, 1924. in Montpelier. he was the son of Max and ’ Anna Gitlin Plank. He was married to Barbara Sue Spiegal: she survives. Born October 15. 1924, in Somerville, Ala., he was the son of Leonard and Willie Mae Jones Morrow . On November 7j 1957, he married Alice E. Sparrow; she survives. Moving from Mississippi, he had been a North Webster area resident for 10 years. He was a woodworker for J. C. Manufacturing, North Webster.
