10 YEARS AGO, AUG. 29, 1979 Jim LaGarde was recently nominated for Fireman of the Year by the Syracuse Fire Department. LaGarde has served the fire department for six years. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wilson have returned from a week visit and vacation in the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Rhodes of Alexandria, Va. Open Day Tea was held by Kappa Omicron, a chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, on Sunday, August 26, at the home of David Byrd for the opening meeting of the 1979-80 year, Mrs, Robert Skillen of Ideal Beach, Lake Wawasee. was hostess on August 23 for 35 senior citizens. The guests were served punch and hors d’oeuvres in the dining room as they arrived. A one o'clock three-course dinner was served at tables on the lakeview lawn. Dr. Jack Clark, a medical physician in Syracuse, has found a hobby in wood carving. In his office there are a few samples of his work.
