Sailing is fun on the big lake
By GLEN LONG Staff Writer The 3,300 acres of Lake Wawasee, the largest natural lake in Indiana, has plenty of room to accommodate a lot of boats and swimmers at one time. It’s a good thing,
because on a warm, sunny summer Saturday or Sunday when a good breeze is blowing there are sailboats of all sizes on the lake along with speedboats and other watercraft of all sizes and types. An increasing number of cruising sailboats over 20 feet long are out in force at such a time with the skippers trimming their sails as best they can to overtake, or at least not fall behind, other cruisershTlheir size range that are sailing up and down the lake. \ In addition to the cruisers, weekends bring out competing sailors of the Wawasee Yacht Club, whose commodore is Alan Fox. and Wawasee Boating Association, which (Continued on page 7)
