Special treatment keeps evergreens beautiful

Unfortunately many gardeners don't realize that these and all other evergreens have needs that ordinary plant foods can't satisfy Unless evergreens have a sufficient supply of iron they can turn

sickly yellow despite regular feeding (scientists call this condition chlorosis.) Also, evergreens must have acid soil to grow strong and beautiful. Because most homes are built on cement foundations, they are constantly leaching lime into the soil, d real hazard for your evergreens Therefore, soil acidity must be constantly renewed That's why I urge gardeners to make certain they provide suffi-
cient iron and soil acidifiers as well as nutrition for their evergreens. I. myself, use a formulation called Miracid which feeds,, ironizes and acidifies all at once so I don't have to worry about whether my evergreens are getting everything they need. Incidentally, fortifying evergreens with iron and soil acidifiers helps them withstand damage caused by winter’s wind and cold. So, always keep in mind that evergreens are special and have special needs Name local veterinarians to academy * The Indiana Academy of Veterinary Medicine has named close to 200 Hoosier veterinarians as members in recognition of their commitment to excellence in the health care of the state's animal population.
