Retail store manager Dino Piraccini hopes to settle down in Syracuse
~ It’s a story so common, it has almost become a cliche. A person comes from the big town to the small town and finds he likes it. That may be an ordinary tale, but in the case of Aldino "Dino’’ Piraccini. that's just what happened. Although he’s still commuting from his home in Michigan. Dino hopes to settle down in a home on one of the lakes near Syracuse
Profile
Dino, a bachelor, has managed the G.L. Perry store in Syracuse since May of last year. "It's a nice town," he observes. He’s found he likes the down home values of the people here and as a lover of water sports, he'll find it easy to satisfy his interests in the Lakeland area. The Mishawaka native had been working as a comanager at a G.L. Perry store in Elkhart when he “heard it through the grapevine that this one (the Syracuse store > was going to be open. He had a choice between the store in this area and one in Battle Creek. Mich., and Syracuse won hands down. “I didn’t even have to think about it.’ he says. He

LOUISA'S LETTER SEESS gg
Dear Louisa. When my husband and I went off for the weekend my two daughters were very disgruntled They were, not left alone as a favorite aunt stayed with them until our return Since we got back from our trip they have made some very cut ting remarks about parents who are too selfish'to take their children on trips and it has hurt mv.feelings. We have taken the children almost everywhere we have been but both of us felt that we should like to get away ourselves for a change as it has been a long time since we had done this Do you think we should feel guilty about not taking the children along' 1 Mother — Del \nswer: I think it is a wonderful plan for parents to take their children on

just preferred one over the other. Dino is as fond of the company he works for as he is of this area of Indiana. He“began with the company as a warehouse worker and bypassed college to take a position with the company The choice seems to have agreed with him. "It’s a good company to work for,” Dino says. He likes the fact that in the G.L. Perry company. "You’re a . name and not a number. They know everything about you." His daily routine is something he's gotten used to over the years. He spent eight as a co-manager at a G.L. Perry store in Niles,’Mich., and when asked what he likes most about his everyday work, Dino says, "It's just something I’ve been doing for so long. I don't notice what I do." Basically, it seems, he just likes everything about his job. In fact, ask him what he actually does and it sounds like he does just about everything that needs to be done at the store. In addition to making decisions on merchandise displays and hiring and scheduling employees, Dino says "I even unload the trucks to keep the payroll down ” In essence, he's running his own store. _ Dino comes from a close family and has one brother and two sisters. Actually, he's not a complete stranger to the area, he remembers attending camp on Lake Wawasee during his childhood summers. In away, his upbringing was good preparation for coming to Syracuse. “I've just always been around water." he explains. Some of his favorite water activities include bass fishing, boating and water skiing. If he does fulfill his wish to move to this area and live on the lake, chances are. Dino will have a good time.
