• Henry R. Kidd Henry R.. Kidd, 31, r 1, Milford, died shortly after arrival at Goshen Hospital after being hit by a van on US 6, west of CRI3, in Elkhart County at 10:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10,1989. Born May 21, 1957, in Ironton, Ohio, he was married on May 17, 1974, in Ironton to Diana Brock; she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are one daughter, Kimberly, and three sons, Henry, Billy and Richard, all at home; two brothers, James Kidd and C. Art Kidd, both of Milford; and two sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Evelyn) Goody and Mrs. Chester (Phyllis) Kelly, both of Ironton. Funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 13, with Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, in charge of arrangements. Burial was to be in LawrenceFurnace Cemetery, Elizabethtown, Ohio. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, was in charge of local arrangements. Pearl L. Hardy Pearl L. Hardy, 95, formerly of 419 E. Simonton Street, Elkhart, died at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1989, in Elkhart Hospital. She was the mother of William E. Hardy, Leesburg. Born January 8, 1894, in Elkhart, she was married October 25,1916, in Goshen, to Paul C. Hardy, Sr. He passed away November 22,1968. Survivors in addition to her son are three other sons, Charles K. Taska and Ramon L. Hardy, both

Long, who underwent open heart surgery last summer, is reportedly still experiencing some stomach problems at this time. Moore Frances I. Moore, 90, died Sunday morning, Feb. 12, 1989, in River Bend Nursing Home, Fort Wayne. She was the mother of Russell J. Moore, Leesburg. Born June 29, 1898, in Maples, she was the daughter of Frank and Laura Kline. She had lived most of her life in the Fort Wayne area. Her husband, William E. Moore, passed away on March 12, 1962. A member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Fort Wayne, Mrs. Moore was a homemaker. Survivors in addition to her son include four other sons, Edwin L. Moore, Wolf Lake, Gerald P. Moore, Fort Wayne, Robert E. Moore, Harvard, 111., and William J. Moore, Butler; and four daughters, Viola M. McKee, Janice E. lanucilli and Velma I. Tests results reveal Yoder is suffering from an infection near the area of his brain. Further tests are being scheduled. Yoder’s wife, Mary Lee (Hunsberger), is a former Milford resident DR. SHANK HASSURGERY Dr. Wendel Shank, Syracuse optometrist, is reportedly doing quite well after having gall bladder surgery on Monday morning, Feb. 13, in Goshen Hospital. It is uncertain at this time as to how long he will remain hospitalized. Dr. Shank is in room 226. SCHEDULED FOR LASER SURGERY Neal P. Cory, r 1, Milford, was scheduled to undergo laser surgery on his right eye shortly after noon today, Wednesday, in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend. This procedure will be the second one done on Cory’s right eye He has had three similar operations done on his left eye to relieve hemorrhaging in front of the retina. ■ ’ —=7, -» jjf fl- »/- PARKED CAR DAMAGED — A 1984 Buick, registered to Duane A. Linderman, Decatur, sustained an estimated $5,000 damage after it was hit by a 1977 Lincoln, driven by Helen L. Shanklin, 65, Syracuse. The accident occurred Saturday, Feb. 11, at 12:23 p.m., at 713 South Huntington Street, Syracuse. Syracuse Police Chief Robert Ziller reported Shanklin was traveling south on Huntington Street when the accident occurred. She told police another car had been driven in front of her vehicle and she swerved her car to the right to avoid hitting it. Goshen Hospital is sponsoring a one-day seminar on how to increase a person’s heart health through lifestyle modification •with a special emphasis on healthy cooking. Any adult concerned with living a healthier life should attend Weight reduction class at hospital Goshen General Hospital will present a weight reduction clinic, “Weight No More,” beginning Tuesday, Feb. 21, at7 p.m. The clinic will meet for eight consecutive Tuesday evenings under the direction of Barbara Fierce, registered dietician at Goshen General Hospital. She will cover strategies in weight reduction and developing healthier eating habits. There will also be two sessions on the importance of physical exercise and conditioning.
