The arrest of Robert Allen Henson. 32, r 1 box 214. Milford, this past weekend has solved numerous burglaries in Elkhart and Kosciusko counties. Henson was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on burglary charges as well as a habitual criminal offense He was released after posting bond. "Excellent police team work is responsible for gathering information and securing a warrant on Henson.” noted Kosciusko County Sheriff Ron Robinson County Detective Sergeant Tom Kitch reported the initial lead towards Henson's arrest came from North Webster PoliceDepartment. Driver escapes injury as car slides into tree

A number of accidents were investigated by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department recently. Dennis D Mills, 23, r 3 box 25. Syracuse, was not injured when the car he was driving slid into a tree in a one-car accident. Saturday. Jan. 28, at 9:10 am. The accident occurred at Pickwick Road and Kale Island Road. Mills was west bound in a 1982 Ford when he lost control of the car on the icy road. The car went off the road and into a tree. Dana, Champion Spark Plug announce merger agreement

TOLEDO, Ohio — Dana Corporation and Champion Spark Plug Company announced January 26 that they hac entered into a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which Champion will be acquired by Dana for sl7 50 in cash or Dana common stock. As a first step in the acquisition. a subsidiary of Dana will commence, no later than February 1, a tender offer for up to 17,320,000 shares of Champion common stock (constituting approximately 50 1 percent of the fully diluted Champion common stock) for $17.50 in cash. Following the tender offer, and subject to the approval of the stockholders of Champion. Champion will be merged with and into a subsidiary of Dana and each share of Champion common stock will be converted into shares of common stock of Dana having a value of $17.50 or $17.50 in cash, subject to an overall limit that no more than 50 percent of the Champion shares will be bought for cash

St.. Syracuse Hubbs' vehicle received S2OO in damages. On Jan. 30 at 3:06 p.m., vehicles driven by William L. Donat and Carol Roose Rohrer collided 15 feet north of the intersection of Huntington and Main Streets in Syracuse. Donat, 37, was traveling south on Huntington in a 1986 Chevrolet truck, pulling a trailer with a backhoe. Rohrer, 39. PO Box 368, Syracuse, was stopped for the light at the intersection of Huntington and Main streets. Donat, 271 Q Evergreen Lane, Goshen, said that his vehicle, registered to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Co., SR 19 South, Nappanee, suddenly lost air pressure to the brakes and could not stop in time to avoid striking Rohrer s vehicle. Donat's vehicle had a damage estimate of up to S2OO. Rohrer's vehicle, registered to Bryce Rohrer. PO Box 368, Syracuse, had a damage estimate of up to $5,000.
