He had to waitfor a train. WEDNESDAY. JAN. 11 Syracuse Police wen 1 asked to assist a person who may be walking to town on his way to North Webster. The caller then asked police to disregard the request, for now, as the person was sitting outside the caller's location. An officer was sent to check on

a person who was walking on Chicago Street, the caller reported the person has cuts to his face. The officer palled back and requested that the dispatcher contact a business and inform them that a person is transporting another person home. THURSDAY, JAN. 12 An object laying on the ice sent police checking for a man The dispatcher received a call of a possible man laying on the ice by Wawasee Boat, since yesterday morning. The officer was sent to search and requested the caller lie contacted to get better directions of the location. Eight minutes later the officer, still unable to locate a person on the ice and requested to have the person meet with him and point out t|ie exact location. The dispatcher was notified 30 minutes later that there was not a person laying on the ice. Instead a piece of steel laying on the ice, with a cover, appeared as if it was a person during the early morning hours. FRIDAY. JAN. 13 Police were notified of an apparent stabbing on Kale Island shortly after midnight The Syracuse Officer went to investigate and acknowledged it was a stabbing and to have a county officer stand by. A one car accident occurred on Monday (Jan. 16) at 1:45 p.m. on CR 200N, northeast of U.S 30, in Plain Township near Warsaw Kim M Wosley. 20, r 9 box 46, Warsaw, was eastbound on CR 200N when she lost control of her vehicle and left the roadway No estimate of damage to the 1985 Trans Am that Wosley was driving was given by police Carolina M. Salinas, 27, 1000 S. Main. Ligonier, was involved in a one car accident on Monday on CR 1050 N, west of CR 400E, near Syracuse. Salinas told police that she was westbound on CR 1050 N when she lost control of her vehi cle on the icy road and slid off of the roadway and into a tree. Damage to the 1976 Dodge being operated by Salinas was estimated at up to >2,500. A one vehicle mishap occurred on Sunday, Jan 15, at 8:45 p.m. in Turkey Creek Township near Syracuse The accident occurred on CR lOSON, west of CR 950E Carey Cotner, 21, r 2 box 373, Syracuse, lost control of his 1987 Toyota truck, left the roadway and struck a tree Damage to Cotner's vehicle was estimated at up to >2,500 Damage was estimated at up to SI,OOO to a 1988 Ford truck after it

call was received, an off-duty officer requested the officer at his house regarding domestic trouble and that he possibly has a person involved in the. stabbing, he also reported he has a witness and requested the officer meet with him. The EMS was sent to the off duty officer's house to check on the other person involved. A road kill permit, for a deer, was given to a person who came to the fire station SATURDAY. JAN. II An officer was unable to locate anything unusual when a person on Valleyview Drive reported someone was possibly in his home. Kosciusko County Police were notified of a roll over accident on the Syracuse-Milford Road The EMS was sent and requested that a person be contacted to have her meet with them at the scene to give permission to treat the 16-year-old involved. The mother, who was in Warsaw, advised the dispatcher to have the EMS transport him to Kosciusko Com munity Hospital and she would meet them there The dispatcher advised the mother that her son was not seriouslv injured. SUNDAY, JAN. 15 The fire department received a fire call during the early morning hours, at the Spink Con dominiums. The manager reported it was a false alarm, but
slid into a large rock on Jan 15 at 4:41 p.m. near Syracuse Norman L, Method, 53, r 3 box 556, Syracuse, told police that he was driving on CR 1350 N. west of the Syracuse-Webster Road, and when he tried to slow to turn his truck slid into a large rock near the roadway. Mary C. Hardy, 17. r 1 box 238 X, Syracuse, was involved in a one car accident on Jan 15 on County Line Road, east ol SR 13, near Syracuse. the firemen went to the scene, to make sure it was false. MONDAY, JAN. 11l Kosciusko. County Sheriff's Department was notified of an accident on CR 1050 N, near the old Scott Landfill, after the dispatcher received the call The person involved was going back to the vehicle after notifying police. A note regarding notification of a bass tournament date, was left for the police chief. A message was given to the town animal control officer after a person called and reported he had a dog in his garage that is growling at his family. The caller lived in Wawasee Heights. TUESDAY, JAN. 17 The dispatcher was notified of. a small brush fire along the County Line Road between SR 13 and North Huntington Street in the early morning hours. The officer on duty went to check on the fire and reported he pulled the burnable brush away and doesn't think it will be a problem. The officer advised he would keep an eye on it. A person came to the fire station to speak to the fire chief about burning a house. The fire chief was not at the station. The person stated he would contact the chief by phone
