Anniversary celebration for Win-Some Women
Sept. 30 through Oct. 2 marks the 20th anniversary of Win-Some Women retreats. Since the fall of 1968, women from Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and Indiana have been coming to the Winona Lake area for these semiannual gatherings. Through the 20 years, this group has brought such notables as Corrie ten Boom, Ethel Barrett, Jill Briscoe, Beverly La Haye, Vonette Bright, Anna Mow, “Hansi” and Betty Pershing, Millie Dienert, Jeanette Clift-George, Kay Arthur, Peg Rankin, Carol Kent, Dorie Van Stone and others. Melva Wickman of Ventura, Calif., was the speaker at the first retreat and returns for this special celebration. The theme of “Through Open Doors” will be pursued by her as she speaks Saturday and Sunday mornings on the door of salvation and on the subject of “Heaven.” Lynn Ford of WBCL will give a dramatic presentation on the life of Corrie ten Boom. Ford is new to Win-Some Women but a familiar voice to the Tri-State listening audience. 1)H TO BE MARRIED OCTOBER 15 — Mr. and Mrs. Fred Curtis announce the upcoming marriage of Michele Marie Skelton to Donald Ray Caudill.
