trustees was asked to seek a solution to the problems and bring the congregation its members’ recommendations. In June, they came with four proposals. Three were for additions and remodeling of the present building. The fourth was the one that caught the eye and imagination of the congregation. Some 90 percent of those present chose to-build a new church. By Aug. 28, a new site one half mile west of. SR 13 on Huntington Street (CR 600 N) had been selected and a building committee appointed to oversee the building project. Since that time, the committee, consisting of Paul Shrider, Howard Kiser, Doris Dorsey, Sharon Richcreek, Phil Mock and J.D. Adams have had regular planning meetings. The plan is for the building to consist of two wings joined at a 160 degree angle to each other. The right wing will contain the sanctuary with its cathedral type ceiling. It will have a capacity of about 170 worshippers. The left wing will contain a kitchen and fellowship hall which will double as the educational wing initially. trance and as one enters the foyer a cross will be the center of attention. The building is planned with a vision for the future, An educational wing can easily be added at the apex where the two wings are joined. The wings can easily be extended to accommodate further growth. It is realized this is a great faith venture for such a small congregation and volunteer labor will be used wherever practical. The North Webster congregation was organized in 1852 with 35 members. The first house of worship was built in 1861 about 2¥z miles north of North Webster. In 1922 the congregation moved into the present building on SR 13, which had been purchased from the Evangelical denomination. This building was remodeled in 1967. Early church leaders included G.P. Rothenberger, Daniel Rothenberger, I.S.
