County officials concerned about asphalt landfill

The Kosciusko County Health Department has begun to control the dumping of asphalt road scrapings for land fill because these materials are considered to be an environmental and health hazard. Jon Cupp, Kosciusko County sanitarian, stated that the county health department has put a stop to the dumping of this material into holes or wetlands that hold water periodically. School employees discovered the vandalism when they arrived at the school. 5-K road race The Kosciusko County Fair Association, along with Reneker’s Sports Shop, is sponsoring a 5-K Road Race on Saturday, Aug. 6. Starting time is 10 a.m. at the County Fair Office. There is no entry fee. Several age divisions have been created for both men and women. T-shirts will be awarded to division winners; Pre-registered runners may get numbers at the Fair Office the day of the race, beginning at 9 a.m. Race day registration is from 9-9:45 a.m.
