The school is now on the southeast corner of the North Webster School property. The Kosciusko County Retired Teachers Association instigated the move, but wanted to keep the old school house within the county. Two school districts were cpnsidered before Wawasee Community School Corporation was selected, thus keeping the building in the original school corporation, the North Webster area. The WCSC has agreed to work in cooperation with the Retired Teachers Association in utilizing the school as a classroom and museum on the school premises. Paula Markley, North Webster School teacher, will be preparing a proposal to the board on how the old school will be utilized. The school corporation will be making preparations and hope to have the building open in the fall. A plaque inside the building states that the first class was held in the school in 1837 with eight students. The school year at that time was three months.
