Area lakes are 'made for boats'
Again this year, area residents and visitors alike are expected to “take to the water” in watercraft ranging from an old rowboat to a high-powered jet boat like the “Master Blaster” which periodically takes a roaring turn around Wawasee Lake in the summer with a high water plume in its wake. Between these two extremes one can find boats of some variety on every lake in the county — sailboats, power runabouts, pontoon boats, deck boats, paddle . boats, canoes, etc. One could continue naming the types and still run the risk of omitting one of the many floating crafts out there. Avis Gunter, Kosciusko County Assessor, reported that in 1986 there were 14,408 boats registered in Kosciusko County. She said most of these are located in the big lakes

Some of these are: A & A Marine, located on Kuhn Lake, six miles north of Pierceton on SR 13, is a store with huge selections. In addition to its boat services this operation carries bait and tackle and offers free demonstrations on how to use and cast lures with rods and reels. A-A also has cabin rentals.
