Raiders, Panthers run past Wawasee

SYRACUSE — Northridge and North Wood each recorded five first places Thursday, but the Raiders prevailed, 58-50, in a triangular meet at Wawasee; The host Warriors placed third with 40 points. The Warriors finished with four individual crowns, two from freshman Lisa Mikel. Krissy Eisenhour and Amy Parr added victories in the meet. Mikel took the 100- and 200-meter races with little effort. Wawasee’s young leader finished in 13:46 for the 100 victory, then finished in 27.71 for the 200 victory. Eisenhour captured Wawasee’s third victory with a 52.5 time in the 300 hurdles. The Warriors’ final champion — Parr — came in field events competition. Parr heaved the discus 97-9 to outdistance Wawasee’s Tonya Perzanowski, who placed third. Besides the Warriors’ vic-

I Soccer clinic slated for July 5-9 A summer soccer clinic will be hosted by the Smith-Walbridge Camp in Syracuse July 5-9. The camp will be directed by Kalamazoo College soccer coach, Hardy Fuchs, with the staff including professional as well as top collegiate players (All American). The camp is open to both boys and girls ages 10-18. No previous soccer experience is necessary, but an advanced player program will be available. St. Joe golfers top Wawasee

SYRACUSE - Fifth-ranked South Bend St. Joe, behind individual medalist Dominic Saratore’s one-over-par 70, edged 20th-ranked Wawasee in Saturday’s Wawasee Invitational at South Shore golf course. St. Joe won with a 308 round, 11 strokes better than the Warriors’ score. Fort Wayne Northrop placed third with 324, and 19th-ranked Carroll was fourth at 325. South Bend Riley was fifth, one stroke behind Carroll, and Columbia City was sixth at 328. Eleven teams competed in the invitational.
