Camping opportunities will be available to area handicapped children end adults during the upcoming summer season. Camp Adventure, located near Pierceton, is designed to meet the needs of disabled children ages 4 to 12 years. It is a residential facility and will accept deaf and hearing impaired campers; oral and sign interpreters will be used. Activities will include crafts, Bible stories, swimming, canoeing, fishing, sports activities, and special programs. Living Digital switching for Leeburg United Telephone Company of Indiana will activate new digital switching equipment in Leesburg on April 16 that will lead to noticeable changes when dialing phone numbers. There will be a slightly different dial tone and calls will be transmitted more quickly and quietly. The line noise is reduced so much that customers may think their phones are not working. Custom calling features will also be available. These features include call waiting, call forwarding, three-way conference calling and speed call 8 and 30. If you do not get a straight answer, perhaps the purchase should be reconsidered, Pearson advises. MICHAEL D. PEDERSON Airman Michael D. Pederson, son of Duane and Kathy Pederson, r 3, Syracuse, has graduated from the US Air Force airframe repair course at Chanute Air Force Base, 111. During the course, students were taught to work with different metals, plastics and fiberglass to repair and replace airframes of aircraft and missiles. They also earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is a 1986 graduate of Wawasee High School.
