Ralph Tusing Ralph Tusing, 80, r 2, Milford, died Thursday, March 17,1988, at 4:20 p.m. in Lakeland Loving Care Center, Milford. He was born irt Milford on April 21, 1907, the son of Jacob and Callie (Long) Tusing. On June 1, 1942, he married Mabie Funk in Leesburg. She survives. Tusing was a lifetime Milford resident and a retired farmer. Surviving with his wife are one sister, Dorothy McKibbin of Milford and one brother, Jacob Tusing, Jr., of Leesburg. He was preceded in death by one sister, Florence Deerwester. Services were held Sunday, March 20, at 2 p.m. in Mishler Funeral Home with Jesse Beer officiating. Burial followed in the Milford Cemetery.' Memorials may be made to the Milford EMS or American Heart Association. Mary S. Umbaugh Mary S. Umbaugh, 86, r 2, Ligonier, died Wednesday, March 16, 1988, at 12:15 p.m. in Heritage Manor Healthcare Center, Ligonier. She was born in Chicago on May 19, 1901. Surviving are one son, George Umbaugh, VanNuys, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Lillian) Hursey, Cromwell, and Mrs. Merrill (Alice) Deardorff, Pharr, Texas; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 20, in Sparta United Church of Christ with Rev. Kim Johnannessohn officiating. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery. (McEwen) Disher, 88, Mountain Home, Idaho. She died Tuesday, Mardh 15, 1988, in Mountain Home Air Force Base Hospital, Mountain Home, Idaho. She was born in Fort Wayne on February 4, 1900. On November 16, 1916, she married Ralph R. Disher who preceded her in death on September 6,1959.

Disher, Jr., New Mexico, and Paul Disher, Mountain Home, Idaho; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack McEwen, Elkhart. Burial was in Milford Cemetery. Elsie Bloomfield Elsie H. Bloomfield, 72, r 2, Syracuse, died Saturday, March 19, 1988, at 12:05 a.m. in her home. Death was of an apparent heart attack. She was born in Muncie on October 15, 1915. On May 23, 1941, she married Samuel Bloomfield. He survives. Mrs. Bloomfield was retired from Essex Wire, Topeka, where she was a mold operator. In 1951, she moved to Lake Wawasee from Fort Wayne. She is survived by her husband and a sister. Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, in EastlundHarris Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Rev. Harlan Steffen officiating. A call was received at 3:15 p.m. Thursday for the EMS to go to Kinro, Syracuse. Pat Harter, 30, r 6 box 44, Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital. Terry Miller, 35, r 4 box 145, Syracuse, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital Thursday after the EMS was called to his home at 10:20 p.m. The EMS transported Leora Small, 43, Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse, from the health care facility to Kosciusko Community Hospital and back on Friday, March 18, at 10:55 a.m. The EMS was called to the home of Beckie Forbes, 16, 330 Harrison Court, Syracuse, at 11:55 p.m. Friday. She was taken to Goshen Hospital. Marie Lutes, 85, Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital Friday, after the EMS was called to the facility at 6:20 p.m. The EMS was called to a location on US 6, one-fourth of a mile east of SR 13 at 5:47 p.m. Saturday, March 19. Dr. Norvin Lewis, Jr. Dr. Norvin W. Lewis, Jr., 69, 210 Rowland Ave., Leesburg, died Thursday, March 17,1988, at 9:07 a.m. in Kosciusko Community Hospital. Dr. Lewis was bom on July 19, 1919, in Nome, Alaska, to Norvin and Lilly (Kook) Lewis. He married Mary Ann Leweck in 1946 in Washington, D.C. She survives. A resident since 1958 of Leesburg, Lewis was a retired osteopathic physician and surgeon. He was a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, S.D., and Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery. He had been a pharmacist’s mate first class during World War II serving in the US Navy. For 17 years, he had been an FAA medical examiner. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Warsaw, Anvile Lodge #2, F&AM and Scottish Rite, all in Nome, Alaska, past member of the Warsaw American Legion and VFW and Leesburg Lions. She was born on June 24, 1947, in Luxora, Ark., to Jasper Hugh and Edith (Pankey) Triplett. She married Billie Mcßroom on June 17,1967. He survives. Mrs. Mcßroom moved to Syracuse in 1967. A community educational program called “Don’t Wait for a Crisis” will be held at Kosciusko Community Hospital in the Administration Building Classroom on Tuesday, April 5, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. “Don’t Wait for a Crisis” is a program designed to provide potential adult caregivers and the elderly with some answers to such questions as what to do when parents are no longer able to care for themselves, what financial help is available to care for the elderly and how to deal with the emotions in these situations. David Rogers, Director of Community Services from the Bowen Center, will speak on “Adult Child Decision Making” and Ed McClain, Senior Citizen Advocate from Indianapolis, will be speaking on “How Are We Going to Pay for this Care.” A film entitled “My Mother, My Father” will be shown also. World's fastest typist coming to Ivy Tech
Winner of 12 typing contests, Cortez Peters is considered by many to be the fastest typist in the world, typing 200 words a minute on an electronic typewriter.
