Two accidents occur

Two accidents were investigated this past week in Milford. The first one occurred last Wednesday at 8:22 p.m. in the Party Pack parking lot on SR 15. A 1981 Ford van, driven by Harold B. Manor, 75, r 2 box 208, Milford, was pulling in the parking lot when it was struck by a 1973 Dodge truck, driven by William Sheller, 27, r 2, Leesburg, as he was leaving the Charged for DWI Randall Lee Blackburn, 20, r 1, Milford, was booked in the Elkhart County Jail early Tuesday morning, March 8, by Nappanee police. He was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Milford Deputy Marshal Aaron Rovenstine then contacted the Goshen police department and an officer stopped Sheller. He was then sent back to Milford where Rovenstine found a scrape mark and blue paint above the back tire on the bed of Shelter's truck on the passenger side. Two injured in chain-reaction crash

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents: An attempt to avoid hitting a vehicle that had pulled out of a private drive resulted in a onevehicle accident Thursday, March 3, at 6:36 a.m. Patsy A. Veitch, 47, r 2 box 476, Syracuse, told police she was west bound on the Syracuse-Milford Road when a vehicle didn’t stop before pulling from the driveway at Pine Crest Court. She tried to stop to avoid hitting the vehicle and lost control of her 1987 Plymouth, hitting a large boulder used for landscaping. Damage to the Veitch vehicle was estimated up to SI,OOO. John K. Rayburn, 51, r 1, North Webster, and Leonard J. Fowler,

68, r 2 box 408, Syracuse, were involved in a two-vehicle accident Thursday, Feb. 25, at 11:12 a.m. The mishap occurred on CR 1300 N just east of the Dewart Lake Road. Rayburn who was east bound on CR 1300 N in a 1978 Chevrolet truck, struck the rear of a 1986 Oldsmobile driven by Fowler. Rayburn told police he did not know Fowler was turning around when the accident occurred. Damage to both vehicles was estimated up to SI,OOO each. Two persons were injured in a four-vehicle accident Saturday, Feb. 20, at 9:55 a.m. on the Dewart Lake Road, north of CR 1000 N. Injured were Stanley R. Myers, 41, r 5 box 403, Syracuse and Larry R. Kaiser, 32, r 1 box 233, Milford. Both were taken to Goshen Hospital.

Myers, 18, r 5 box 403, Syracuse, when the vehicles became a part of a chain reaction accident, Gregory K. applied the brakes, causing the vehicle to go into a skid from the ice. The truck then hitting a 1983 Ford truck driven by Kaiser. Kaiser was north bound and waiting for traffic before proceeding. The truck, driven by Kaiser, is owned by Thermogas of New Paris, P.O. Box 134, New Paris. Damage to Mrs. Myers’ vehicle was estimated under S2OO and up to $2,500 to Nathan Myers’ truck. Estimated damage to both Carpenter’s truck and Thermogas’ truck was up to $5,000.
